Progress report / update

Dear all,
we hope you are doing well.

We would like to share with you all a bit on info regarding the overall progress of the game.
We have posted some similar details some time ago but since we have some new Patrons that might not have seen such posts here is a summary of what has been going on and what is coming up.

1st off, we have been working very hard, for about 4 months now, on the Unity version of the game. Thursday we had a meeting and we all had a look at the progress made. It is looking good, we have almost completely remade the Spawning Den and we have introduced a lot of new things, some that have been directly asked by you guys (like master audio control, options menu to change resolution etc, save/load functions etc etc).
We have encountered quite a few issues along the way, but it seems now that we have overcome most of the crucial ones.
Just to give you an example, we had to purchase a brand new specific app that will allow Unity to perform new and necessary functions in order to produce what we need. We also had to contact the developer of such app to make some modifications to it.
This is just one of the things we had to tackle but the team here has been doing an amazing job and we are all really happy with what we saw during the last meeting.

Now in regards to release dates, as always we will keep releasing stuff every month while working on the Unity version, so you won't be left with nothing. If we can help it, as we have been able to up to now, not a single month will go without a release.
The release of the Unity version is planned for, if everything goes smoothly, September. So we are giving our team, basically a month's time to have something that can be played that is tested, fixed if necessary and released.
This is an essential step because it will set the foundation for the whole game, providing all the basic mechanics and core coding for future updates.

It is also very important because it will allow us to produce updates that will move in the direction of the story-line, traveling to new realms, acquiring new characters etc etc.
In the last months we have focused on introducing content that we can easily transfer to the Unity version. We slowed down the story progression in order to allow the Unity version to catch up instead of endlessly chasing the flash one.
So again, if everything moves along smoothly, we plan to release the first update featuring a new realm in October, right after the Unity version is out.

That is all for now, we will give you more details and updates along the way and we sincerely thank you all for your generous support, for believing in this project and making it possible for us to continue with it's development.

Thank you all and have a great weekend!

Cheers ;)

Thank you Josef! We can't wait to show you all this month's update and the new Unity version that is coming up soon. We hope to have a good system setup by the end of the year that will allow us to release bigger updates each month and start pushing the game's story timeline.

Thank you for your kind words Hindemith. We assure you that we are doing our best to have a good balance between quality (which we highly value) and production cost/time. Yeah, hopefully we will grow enough to start working on ever bigger projects. that said, tlol is already draining us of all we've got. This said, we are happy to work on it, we think we can create a pretty cool game for user to play with and we have only you guys to thank for it. Cheers ;)

I was a bit harsh on my last comment, but only because I truly believe TLoL has the potential to be a great game. And now I have to say something else in the same direction. Take the time you need. It is important to keep giving your supporters something to enjoy, but the quality should win over quantity. So, I must say I am looking forward to see the Unity version, but when it's done. Looking at game giants like Valve and Blizzard, they sometimes get the anger of the fanbase because of so much delaying, but nobody remembers that when the masterpieces they create are finally released (maybe you guys still don't have the luxury of using Valve time, but you'll get there).

Glad you like our work pheonixxnight! And thank you for your encouraging words :) they are appreciated.

Thank you Robert ^^ we will ;)

Cannot wait to see and play more, thank you for the amazing work you have been doing so far, and the work I believe you will do in the future.

I don't know the details but I hear flash is going away in a few years so it might just be a way to keep the game from being wasted when flash is no longer usable. Though unity is much better in general, I don't know what the benefits are to using it in a game like this that isn't using 3D or anything too crazy

bro

Good stuff, I look forward to seeing more. Seems well planned and thought out. Keep up the good work

bro

I'm curious, what advantages will the Unity engine give that Flash won't? I hear it's far superior, so I'm excited to hear you're going in that direction!
