Chapter 1074: Clark vs. Darkseid

"Boom!" Just as Darkseid’s icy expression hinted at him preparing to speak, his body was sent flying again, his words cut off mid-sentence. A voice echoed in his ears.

"You think you’re Robert? You think you can block my punch with one hand?" Clark’s annoyed voice left Darkseid momentarily confused. But as Darkseid stabilized himself, anger surged within him.

You’ve been attacking me while I was unconscious, trying to master my new power, repeatedly damaging my body. Now that I’m awake and block your attack, you’re mad? What kind of person are you?!

This was the thought that flashed through Darkseid’s mind as his rage boiled over.

Did Clark think he was the only one with a temper after waking up? Darkseid’s temper was just as fierce!

"Whoosh!" In the next moment, a red beam shot from Darkseid’s eyes—the Omega Beams, a move Robert was all too familiar with.

"Huh?" Seeing Darkseid’s attack, Clark was momentarily stunned, then sneered, "A cheap knockoff!"

Clark had every right to say this. Before he appeared, no one had used heat vision. But after his arrival, heat vision became a common ability—and this was without Clark even knowing about Homelander.

"Whoosh!" So, Clark didn’t bother using his heat vision to teach Darkseid a lesson. Instead, he moved like a beam of light, instantly crossing the path of the Omega Beams and charging toward Darkseid.

But to Clark’s surprise, the Omega Beams didn’t stop after missing their target. They continued to pour out energy, making Clark feel uneasy.

In the next moment, a faint threat approached from behind Clark. Even with his incredible speed, Clark couldn’t escape the Omega Beams’ pursuit. Darkseid’s power had grown significantly—he had grasped an ultimate rule of the universe!

"Huh?!" Sensing the threat, Clark glanced back and saw the Omega Beams curving toward him. He was shocked, but a greater sense of danger made him instinctively dodge.

"Whoosh!" Where Clark had been standing, a strange energy struck the air. Even though he wasn’t hit, Clark felt an uncomfortable sensation in his body.

"Is this his new power?" Robert, who was watching the battle, raised an eyebrow. The energy Darkseid had just released was clearly different from the Omega Energy.

If the previous Omega Energy contained the rules of life and death, and could even tear through space to deepen pain, this new energy seemed to encompass a multitude of rules.

Fear, despair, condemnation, guilt, failure—various dark emotions surged within the energy, leaving Robert intrigued. Such a complex energy was something he had never encountered before.

Even Galactus didn’t wield such a multifaceted energy. Galactus’s power was a higher, purer form of rule-based energy, something Robert hadn’t felt or seen in anyone else—except perhaps Galactus’s daughter, Galacta.

In Robert’s perception, Darkseid’s new power wasn’t like Galactus’s or the Infinity Stones’ single-rule energy. Instead, it was a bizarre, intertwined force with complex and unknown effects, likely possessing some special abilities.

"Shouldn’t it have some special ability? It can’t just make people feel fear and despair, right?" Robert narrowed his eyes, watching Darkseid with anticipation.

While emotional energies like fear or anger were powerful—take the Hulk, whose strength could reach the level of Silver Surfer or Sentry when fueled by rage—they weren’t something Robert valued highly.

Such single emotional energies couldn’t compare to the Infinity Stones, so Robert was curious about Darkseid’s new power.

Of course, if multiple dark emotional energies were combined, Darkseid’s new power might rival or even surpass a single Infinity Stone.

But if it were just a simple stacking of emotional energies, Darkseid would have likely targeted Oa long ago to obtain the Emotional Spectrum’s powers.

As Robert watched with interest, Clark grew more cautious. When Darkseid used his new energy, Clark felt immense pressure. The energy made him uncomfortable, as if light were clashing with darkness.

"Whoosh!" In response, Clark chose to attack. The golden aura around him solidified, forming a protective barrier.

In the next moment, a powerful energy blast shot toward Darkseid, only to be intercepted by the curving Omega Beams.

"Whoosh!" The two vastly different energies collided in mid-air, creating a mysterious ripple. Both Clark and Darkseid’s attacks weren’t just pure energy—they contained special rules.

Thus, the first thing to clash was the two opposing rule-based forces.

"Whoosh!" But it was clear that the Omega Beams, despite containing rule-based power, weren’t as pure or strong as Clark’s energy. The Omega Beams were visibly being pushed back, retreating along their original path.

"A Kryptonian? No! He’s far stronger than any Kryptonian—like a true Kryptonian god," Darkseid thought, feeling the pressure from the Omega Beams. His expression grew serious as he stared at Clark.

Compared to Robert, whose origins were a mystery, Clark’s background was more obvious. Apokolips had encountered Kryptonians before, and even had Kryptonian Parademons. Thus, Darkseid was quite familiar with Kryptonians.

But even with that familiarity, Darkseid had never seen a Kryptonian as powerful as Clark. As the leader of the New Gods, Darkseid had to admit that he sensed a divine aura and majesty in Clark.

"Fortunately, if I hadn’t grasped the Anti-Life Equation, I might not be his match. But now it’s different. I never expected the Anti-Life Equation to synergize so well with Omega Energy!" Darkseid thought, his eyes narrowing.

"Whoosh!" In an instant, Clark felt the pressure increase. The Omega Beams, which had been pushed back, suddenly surged in power. Clark’s attack was being overwhelmed by a more complex force, and the Omega Beams were closing in on him.

"Is this the energy that attacked me earlier? How can his two different energies blend so seamlessly?" Clark was shocked. From Robert’s earlier words, Clark knew Darkseid had fallen unconscious after obtaining this new power.

But in such a short time, Darkseid had mastered it and even integrated it perfectly with his Omega Energy, creating a multi-rule energy attack.

"No! He’s better at energy clashes than I am. I need to change tactics!" Clark quickly decided. He could feel his energy attack wasn’t enough to counter Darkseid’s Omega Beams and the Anti-Life Equation’s rules.

"Whoosh!" In the next moment, Clark vanished. The energy he had released suddenly brightened, as if a star had exploded in the dimensional realm. Light and heat filled the area, blinding even Darkseid.

"Boom!" As Darkseid’s senses returned, a fist as bright as the sun struck him, sending him flying again. This time, Darkseid truly felt what Clark had been doing to him while he was unconscious.

"Bastard!" But this time, Darkseid didn’t fly far. His rage allowed him to stop mid-air, and as Clark charged again, Darkseid’s furious fist met Clark’s body.

"You think just because your energy attacks can’t beat me, your fists can? Let me tell you! Your punches are weak! Utterly useless!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

As Darkseid’s angry voice echoed, he and Clark clashed repeatedly. Shockwaves from their battle spread through the dimensional realm, dispersing the light from Clark’s earlier explosion.

But Robert, watching from the sidelines, could clearly see that even without using the special abilities of his new power, and even though Darkseid wasn’t more skilled than Clark, Darkseid was stronger in both energy clashes and close combat.

Such a terrifying battle couldn’t be witnessed by just Robert and Sentry. Not only was Ancient One using her magic to broadcast the fight to the Avengers, but many dimensional beings had also noticed the battle.

If Robert and Ancient One had previously protected Earth’s dimension with abilities that dimensional beings couldn’t easily counter, Clark and Darkseid had now truly entered the ranks of the universe’s top-tier fighters.

Yes, even though dimensions seemed broader than the universe, with more powerful beings, the level of Galactus and other cosmic entities was the limit for most dimensional beings.

Perhaps some dimensions were vast enough to rival the universe, and their rulers might surpass Galactus or other cosmic entities, but they wouldn’t exceed the cosmic entity level.

Thus, Clark and Darkseid, who had reached the cosmic entity level, naturally attracted the attention of nearly all dimensional beings.

In fact, to many dimensions, Clark and Darkseid weren’t strangers.

Clark had protected Earth’s dimension and interacted with many dimensions before, though his strength hadn’t been this overwhelming. Back then, dimensional beings hadn’t feared him as much.

But now, with Clark’s newfound power, even a full-scale invasion of Earth’s dimension would likely only result in its destruction, not its conquest.

As for Darkseid, dimensional beings knew him even better. He was already a top-tier fighter, nearing the cosmic entity level. Now, with his new power, he had become even more formidable.

After all, those who knew Darkseid understood he was a tyrant—a conqueror who spared no one. Whether it was planetary civilizations or small dimensions, if they were in Darkseid’s sights, they were destroyed.

Darkseid had even wiped out some small dimensions to see if dimensional beings could create more powerful Parademons.

Unfortunately, once a dimension was destroyed, its beings lost their unique powers, rendering Darkseid’s efforts futile.

But now, both Darkseid and Clark posed a threat to many dimensions, disrupting the balance. Thus, the watching eyes grew colder…
