2025-06-07 16:36:23 +0000 UTCRegarding canon and filler, older shonen anime like Naruto, One Piece etc air constantly without breaks so when the anime catches up to the manga they add filler episodes or even whole filler arcs to let the manga proceed. Anime can't adapt one chapter-one episode because the episode would then have snail pace as one episode packs so much more than a chapter so usually it's likie one episode = 3-4 chapters. Newer anime like AoT or Demon Slayer doesn't have fillers because they do shows in seasons rather than constant. So they do one season per 1-3 years to let the manga proceed ahead and then one season has 1-2 arcs per season. For example in AoT there was a 4 year gap between s1 and s2, so no fillers needed

Creating a jutsu is likely an entirely different level of difficulty to learning something with the steps already laid out for you so it's not really a knock against the Fourth for Naruto to be able to learn it in a fraction of that time. That said Naruto is the first person to really be trained to use the jutsu (Jiraiya just knows how it works and so he uses it) so I feel like Jiraiya using the creation timeline of the jutsu as an expectation is a lil off. Naruto is definitely skilled in his own way but at the same time we have basically nothing to compare his training to in this instance
