4K Test Render
Added 2022-02-10 22:41:58 +0000 UTCPlaying around with resolutions recently. I typically render out all my scenes for 1080p. Now obviously 1080p is by no means groundbreaking but its decent and doesn't take forever for me to render out a couple of seconds. I actually wanted to try to render out at 8K resolution and...um...Well, my computer literally froze and shit the bed. I could render out maybe 20% of a 10 second loop before everything would freeze.
So....Yeah, no 8k content today. I decided to move on to the next best thing. 4K and I must say. I do like the sharpness it brings. I was pleasantly surprised by the file size too. Which is a big plus. I figured I'd share this 4k shot with everyone.
Now does this mean I'll be upgrading to 4K? Not yet, but I would like too eventually. The biggest draw back is obviously the render time. Just those 10 seconds I shared took roughly 3-4 mins to render and that shot was a simpler one as well. A more complex scene like the Tifa Gang Bang would easily take 7-9 mins to render out a shot at 4K. So a 10 to 15 min movie would take a massive chunk of rendering time.
But who knows what the future holds right? What do you guys think? Would you like to see some 4K content in the future?

It looks good on my 2k monitor.
