A Can of Worms (important quite a bit)

No, not really, but it's troooouble :P
Also, talking about worms, Patreon lately has been fucky with payments and such. Also unresponsiveness on behalf of the community, etcetera, potentially going to be very bad in the future, etc. More information in these videos if you have time:

In light of this, or rather darkness, I am kind of forced to go to another platform for support. The problem is to get to one which allows adult content. Ko-fi is no longer available, so my options are either build a personal website (or have it build rather), or go on pixivFANBOX.

Making a website is a good option, however, that takes time and if I want to implement PayPal payments there, my account will be at risk due to providing adult content (they're incredibly anal about this). Costs are low, but risk is high and probably not worth the investment as well.

The latter -pixivFANBOX- is the easiest for me personally and allows creditcard payments, just like on Patreon. PayPal is unfortunately unavailable for adult content there however (which is basically the same everywhere). Fees that I have to pay personally stay roughly the same, so on that front, there is little change. Problem is that support costs 100 yen extra on top of the support pledge, so it's quite a hefty change in that regard for you all. Correction: this is only valid for convenience store payments in Japan, so this does not apply for supporters outside of Japan! You will have no extra costs attached to pixivFANBOX pledges, so this will be the way to go.

So, in short, Patreon is getting dangerous to stay on and migration will happen in the foreseeable future.

I think I'll go for a more stable approach with a company that already knows well what it is engaged in. I'm not afraid to get removed from Patreon, but I'm choosing to slowly swap ships unless something so miraculously happens that returns all merit to this company.

A guy I follow is making a direct competitor for Patreon. His project is in its infancy but you can find it here: <a href="https://newproject2.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://newproject2.com/</a>He is basically giving a platform to people who have been kicked from Patreon, and is a genuine good guy. You might know him as the guy who insulted women on the Dr Phil show (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0xoKiH8JJM)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0xoKiH8JJM)</a> and he has a hugely popular podcast (the Dickshow).

Yes, Patreon is being very hostile towards its users, both supporters and content creators. I think it's an inherant problem caused by it being a venture capital company, as well as being under the thumb of prude payment companies. I think the best solution for me would be to walk away from these sources of influence and go for a neutral place like Pixiv where only Japanese censorship law counts and not the feelings of a CEO or another arbitrary party.

Thank you for the kind words! I'll keep everyone updated and if I move it'll probably have a transitional time of a few weeks or months to make everyone aware of the fact.

I'm only on here supporting you these days, so if you do move i'll see what I can do to keep supporting you.
