Lily faded into a dark aura, her presence finally gone, and I exhaled a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. She was pissed—rightfully so—but at least she didn’t stick around to make a scene in front of the others. That was the last thing I needed tonight.
Luci’s smirk cut through my brief moment of peace. "So, what, are you afraid of your sister now?" he asked, swirling his wine lazily. "Looks pathetic."
I shot him a glare. "I’m not afraid of her," I muttered, crossing my arms. "It’s just that… she had a point. I have been busy lately. And now she caught me with Morgana like this, so…" I sighed, shaking my head. "I get why she’s frustrated."
Luci chuckled, lifting his glass to his lips. "You’re defending her now? How sentimental."
I scoffed. "Just stating facts."
Before Luci could throw another remark my way, Asmo clapped his hands loudly, drawing our attention back to him. His grin was stretched wide, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous excitement.
"Alright, since none of my usual methods worked on you two," he said, eyes flicking between me and Luci, "let’s cut to the chase. Do either of you have any preferences?" His smirk widened as he leaned forward, his voice dropping to a husky purr. "We could still do an orgy, you know. One versus seven. Now that would be fun!"
I cringed, immediately regretting giving him any form of attention. "Seven girls versus one of us?" I asked, half-expecting that to be his intention.
But Asmo shook his head, looking far too pleased with himself. "Seven of us versus one girl, of course," he said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. "I mean, if it was just one of us versus seven girls, that’s the usual, right? That wouldn’t be special. And this time… I will use my power and make her accept all our seeds."
I clenched my jaw, trying my best to suppress the full-body cringe. That meant this was worse than the usual mess Asmo hosted. And somehow, I hadn’t thought that was possible.
Luci, as expected, wasn’t having it. "What do you mean ‘that would be fun’?" he asked, his voice carrying the same exasperation I felt. "That’s a huge no."
Asmo waved his hand dismissively, his smirk unwavering. "Oh, come on. It would be interesting," he said, his tone laced with mischief. "Think about it—our seeds all have different properties. If they were to combine inside one girl… wouldn’t you want to know what would happen?"
Silence.
Luci and I exchanged glances—not out of amusement or irritation, but genuine contemplation. Asmo, for all his debauchery, had unknowingly piqued our curiosity. This wasn’t just about an orgy. This was an experiment. A dangerous one.
Still.
"No," I said finally, shaking my head. "Too risky. The girl could die."
Mammon, who had been mostly quiet—probably still mentally calculating his profits—surprised me by chiming in. "Yeah," he said, exhaling loudly. "I actually agree with Azrael on this one. No matter how much money you offer me, I’m not interested."
Asmo let out an exaggerated whine, flopping dramatically in his chair. "Why?!" he groaned, looking genuinely offended.
Luci took a sip of his wine before answering. "Because," he said, his voice calm but firm, "we might create a monster."
Asmo’s grin twitched, his intrigue growing rather than fading. "Now that is an interesting thought," he mused, tapping his fingers against his armrest. "Imagine it—our combined power, our essence in one being… What would it become?"
I exhaled sharply, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Asmo, you are not talking your way into this."
"Think about it, Azrael!" Asmo insisted, ignoring my growing irritation. "Your Wrath, my Lust, Luci’s Pride, Mammon’s Greed, Beel’s Gluttony, Belphie’s Sloth, Levi’s Envy… all concentrated into one person? That’s like… the ultimate demonic hybrid!"
Mammon sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yeah. That’s exactly the problem."
"Imagine the power!" Asmo continued, completely ignoring him. "It’d be unstoppable!"
"Or she’d implode before she ever got the chance," I shot back, my patience wearing thin. "Even high-class demons can’t handle that much sin in one body."
Beel, who had been listening while lazily eating, finally swallowed his food and spoke up. "Yeah, I don’t think she’d survive. Probably combust."
Luci nodded in agreement. "And if she did survive, she’d be something none of us could control." He took another sip of wine before giving Asmo a pointed look. "Would you want to be responsible for creating a demonic freak of nature?"
Asmo blinked, looking like he was actually considering the situation. Then, slowly, his smirk returned. "Yes."
I sighed, rubbing my temples again. "Of course you do."
"Think of the power!" Asmo said, standing up now, his excitement refusing to be contained. "It would be a legacy! A perfect fusion of all seven sins! She would be divine!"
Luci snorted. "You mean unstable."
Mammon shook his head, crossing his arms. "I already said no. I don’t care how much power we’re talking about—some risks aren’t worth the payout."
Beel shrugged. "I’d rather eat."
Levi, who had been quietly absorbed in his game this entire time, finally spoke without looking up. "Yeah, uh… I’d rather not be part of a science experiment. Sounds like a pain."
Asmo groaned dramatically, falling back into his chair. "Ugh! You guys have no sense of adventure!"
"I have plenty of adventure," I said flatly. "I just prefer it not to involve potentially breaking the balance of Hell."
Luci smirked, raising his glass once again. "Cheers to that."
Asmo pouted but didn’t push further. "Fine, fine," he muttered, twirling a strand of his hair between his fingers. "I’ll drop it. For now."
I narrowed my eyes. "For now?"
Asmo grinned innocently. "What? I’m just saying, the idea’s out there. Who knows? Maybe one day, one of us will be curious enough to test it out…"
Luci and I exchanged another glance before simultaneously shaking our heads.
"Yeah. No," I said.
"Absolutely not," Luci agreed.
