The Incubus System Chapter 1084. Angels 2.0

The Incubus System Chapter 1084. Angels 2.0

I let out a long breath, running a hand through my hair. “Well, that’s frustrating,” I muttered. “Because if it’s not about another angel and it’s not about me, then what the hell was that dream?”

Puriel glanced at me from the corner of her eye, her golden irises glowing faintly in the dim light. “It could just be a simple dream,” she said, her tone casual as if it were the most obvious answer in the world. “You know, like… an actual dream. The kind that doesn’t mean anything. Something that happens to humans all the time.”

I gave her the flattest stare I could muster, crossing my arms. “Do you really want me to believe that?” I asked, my voice dripping with disbelief.

She arched a delicate brow, tilting her head slightly. “Why not? There’s no other explanation, right? What else could it be? Do you think it’s some kind of divine message? Angels or…” she paused for emphasis, “…my sister trying to contact you?”

I shrugged, leaning back slightly. “Maybe? It could happen, right?”

She leaned forward, closing the small distance between us, her voice firm but calm. “I’ll say it again, Ethan. Angels can’t use their telepathy or their dream spells across worlds. It’s not possible.”

Her certainty was maddening, but I couldn’t deny the logic. “You’re really sure about that?” I asked, more to fill the silence than because I expected a different answer.

“Absolutely,” she said, her tone steady and without hesitation. “No angel has that ability. Not even my sisters.”

I hummed thoughtfully, resting my chin in my hand. “Okay, but… what if they got an update?” I suggested, raising an eyebrow. “Like a skill patch or something. You know, angels 2.0.”

She raised one of her eyebrows, her expression hovering somewhere between disbelief and amusement. “Really?” her expression said without words.

“Fine, fine,” I said, throwing my hands up in mock surrender. “It was just a dream, then. I won’t bother you about it anymore. But…” I hesitated, my voice growing softer. “I still feel like it’s more than that.”

Puriel sighed, shaking her head slightly but not arguing further. “If you say so.”

I decided to shift the conversation to something lighter. “So, what’s your plan for today?” I asked, leaning back on my hands. “Are you going to stay here all day? Should I get you some food? I mean, drink… You don’t eat, right?”

Her lips curved into a faint smile, and she nodded. “Drink is fine,” she said simply. Then, with a small frown, she added, “But first, I need a shower. I smell like you.”

That earned a laugh from me. “Of course you smell like me,” I said with a grin. “You took my cock and my—”

Before I could finish, she grabbed a pillow and launched it straight at my face. “Stop it!” she snapped, her cheeks turning a bright shade of pink. “Stop reminding me of that!”

I caught the pillow mid-air, raising both my hands in surrender. “Okay, okay! My bad,” I said, though I couldn’t stop the grin that tugged at my lips. She was just too easy to fluster sometimes.

Puriel huffed, clearly trying to maintain her composure as she moved to get off the bed. But as soon as her feet touched the ground, her legs wobbled, and she sank back onto the mattress with a small gasp.

“Whoa, easy there,” I said, moving closer. “Looks like you haven’t fully recovered yet.”

She shot me a half-hearted glare. “Of course I haven’t,” she muttered. “Remember what you did last night?”

I chuckled, reaching out to scoop her up before she could protest. “Don’t blame me for that,” I said, my tone light but teasing. “You’re the one who said, ‘Don’t stop.’ I was just doing what you wanted.”

Her blush deepened, and she buried her face in her hands with a groan. “You’re impossible,” she mumbled, her voice muffled by her fingers.

“And yet, here I am,” I said with a smirk, carrying her toward the bathroom. “Taking care of you. Aren’t I just the perfect gentleman?”

She peeked at me through her fingers, her lips twitching into a reluctant smile. “You’re something, all right,” she said, her tone caught somewhere between exasperation and amusement.

I set her down gently, making sure she was steady before stepping back. “Shower’s all yours,” I said, gesturing toward the door. “Take your time. I’ll grab you something to drink.”

She nodded, her eyes softening slightly. “Thank you,” she said quietly, the sincerity in her voice catching me off guard.

“Anytime,” I said, my smirk softening into a genuine smile. I turned toward the door, ready to let her handle her business while I fetched something for her to drink. Maybe another honey milk tea? But then she spoke again.

“Ethan.”

I paused mid-step, glancing over my shoulder. “Hm?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

She hesitated, shifting slightly in the bathtub. “How do I… use this thing?” she asked, gesturing vaguely toward the shower with an expression that was equal parts curious and embarrassed.

I blinked. ‘Of course,’ I thought, resisting the urge to smack my own forehead. Puriel’s understanding of modern human conveniences was… minimal, to put it lightly. It hadn’t even crossed my mind that she’d have no idea how to operate something as basic as a shower. After all, until recently, she’d been trapped in a crystal for centuries.

I let out a small huff, trying to keep the exasperation out of my tone. “Okay,” I said, rolling up my sleeves as I walked back to her. “Guess I’m teaching you how to take a bath.”

Her eyes widened slightly, and she instinctively pulled the blanket tighter around herself as I approached. “You’re serious?” she asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.

“Dead serious,” I replied, crossing my arms. “You can’t exactly go around smelling like me all day. Not that I’d mind, but, you know… public appearances and all.”

Fixed shifted in the bathtub.

I thought he took her to the bathroom? If so how could she shift around on the bed?
