sad news
Added 2021-04-24 13:46:05 +0000 UTCi tried with two different data recovery services and they both told me that the songs i need back are not recoverable. some of them i can still work with the fact that i kept a draft mp3 bounce, but some of them i would have had to basically restart from scratch. this is obviously really upsetting and i don’t plan on revisiting those songs, at least any time soon. for now the main focus will be brand new music and older music that wasn’t lost in the fire.

2021-04-24 18:43:00 +0000 UTCSorry to hear this. I have had this happen multiple times over the years. We lost an entire album a week before we were done with it back in 2001. It made us move from an all-in-one digital recorder - Roland something or other - to proper computer with DAW. If you ever need a hand with anything like this in the future, don't hesitate to reach out. I know some folks that you could send drives to. Otherwise, it's not always a bad thing. We have limited time to create, and everything is temporary, so enjoy the process and don't worry about the outcome too much. Hope things are well otherwise.
