Oct. 21 Random Event

Greetings Tier 3 people! I wanted to show you the current version of the cover of the adventure module going into Mythic Magazine #11. Tockley Manor is an attempt at combining various Mythic and Crafter rules to create a playable, published adventure that allows you to play in the usual Mythic manner while also having some of the structure of a crafted adventure module.

I'm finding it to be an interesting hybrid of solo and non-solo role-playing elements. On the one hand, there is a clear tone and goal to the adventure. On the other hand, the adventure can unfold any number of ways depending on what you do and what Mythic throws at you along the way. It's possible to play the same adventure multiple times and get wildly different results each time, while all still staying true to the tone and certain elements contained in the adventure.

Time will tell if this approach works. I do know that I'm having fun writing it and I look forward to playing in it myself!

Thanks Joaquim! And that's a great idea. I'm going to see how this adventure goes over in Mythic Magazine. This is an experiment to see if this format works. Truthfully, I'm hoping this is an idea that catches on and we start seeing modules appearing some day that are geared to solo play. I like your idea very much though, and perhaps a year from now there could be a Mythic released where the rules are included with the module. Maybe even slightly tailored rules to exactly suit the tone of each module, using some mixture of the Mythic ruleset.

Ohh im hyped for this! The cover looks great! It would be nice having an adventure that teaches the mythic mechanics like some of the starter boxes from pathfinder or d&d.

Yes, that's really what the article is about, a guide to making these. The adventure itself is there as an example, probably the biggest example I have ever made lol

Man the cover is clean ! The only thing I think is redundant is the “a solo module adventure / a horror adventure for one player”. They serve the same function and are a bit confusing. Perhaps let “a solo adventure module” where it is and that could serve as a general category (in the future you could do a “solo campaign module” or a “solo adventure seeds” for example) and change the other to tell more technical details (the genre, the intended playtime, the age restrictions, other form of warnings). In that way you have 2 distincts and informative spaces. Otherwise, the whole aesthetic works really well. Good job Tana :)
