Random Event, October 1, 2021

This Random Event is going to feel like deja vu. A few weeks back I posted how the Lists were looking in Mythic 2e. The Lists continue to evolve, and here is the current iteration.

I am trying to make Mythic 2e and The Adventure Crafter work more seamlessly together. I'm also trying to keep Mythic from breaking with the current version of the Mythic Emulator Deck. All of these things have to play nicely together.

This is why this version of the Lists has 25 entries instead of 20. 25 makes it equivalent to TAC, which makes it compatible with the AC Deck, too.

This version of the Lists uses fewer dice, just d6, d12, and d20, than the last one I showed you. This makes each segment of the List a mini List unto itself. When you max out that mini List, it expands to the next dice range.

The top range, 25, is rolled with d20+d6. This is why the first result is 1/26, to accommodate either rolling a 1 with a lower dice range, or 26 with the higher. The numbers ranging from 1 to 25 also makes the list AC Deck friendly.

I added, in small text, text showing what dice you are supposed to roll for each segment of the Lists. I know the highlighted numbers pretty much tell you, but 25 is the odd man out. I had text next to that one only, but it looked strange not to have it on all of them.

What I like about this current List scheme is that, as is, this works with classic Mythic, it works with Adventure Crafter, it works if you combine the two. On the same table you can roll within the dice range if you are rolling for a Mythic Random Event (like rolling 1d6 if you have 4 items in the Characters List) while also using the same List if you are using the AC Deck to make Interrupt Scenes or other occasional use in your Adventure. You would use the 1-25 number range then.

If you choose to use the AC Lists instead (which will also be printed in the book), then these Lists will only change slightly, adding in the New Plotline/Character, while otherwise remaining identical to this List format. Mythic 2e will give you the option of using either List format, depending on your needs.

If you get a chance, please let me know what you think, especially when it comes to the dice conventions used here (d6, d12, d20, d20+d6).

Happy adventuring!
