Should I upload the politics video to the main channel?
Added 2023-03-06 22:55:15 +0000 UTCI haven't been able to get the age restriction lifted on the latest video. As far as I know it still hasn't had a manual review but I'm not getting anywhere with support. I did try uploading it to the main channel as unlisted though, just to check, and its had no issues. So I'm debating whether to unlist the version up now and just have this video on the main channel. I can even change the one scene that I think may have got it flagged.
Honestly though I'm not sure whether this is a good idea, hence the poll. So I'm looking for a second opinion and appealing to your collective wisdom, although don't worry too much about it, things are fine either way.
Anyway, main reason for doing this is that it will allow a video I have worked a lot on and feel is important to be seen by more people. At the moment the video is getting a couple hundred views a day and that number is only going down, so this is the best way to get at least some views.
Reasons against are that it doesn't fit so well on a gaming focused channel, it might alienate some people, politics is controversial and some people will react negatively, it might confuse the algorithm a bit, it might get age restricted again anyway, etc.
Keep in mind most viewers are 'casual' viewers who won't necessarily take what I say and react as good faith as patreon supporters or even people subscribed on the second channel currently have.

I’ve went an watched the video twice now. I think it can be easily misunderstood as ”enlightened centrism” i.e just solve everything with science/”objective truths” and stop being divisive. My take away after watching it a second time was that it’s about how we (non-academics) used to think the world was simple (like the centrists) but it turns out it’s not and no one knows what the fuck to do about it. The only topic it doesn’t discuss that I think it should is power dynamics in political discussion. You even mentioned Foucault. I thinks the video is good but some points should be clarified if you are gonna upload it to the main channel. 1. State clearly what the historical meta narrative in the first part of the video is meant to point out. It is obviously a gross simplification of history. 2. State clearly your thoughts on post-modernism. Some comments have already interpreted your video as anti post-modernist in the vein of Jordan Peterson. 3. Discuss power dynamics. This grounds the video in reality where power plays a big part on what public political discussion focuses on. Thanks if you read this and hope you can pull through all this youtube bullshit!
