Channel Update #29 (Aug) – next two videos and not so beyond
Added 2022-09-11 02:20:10 +0000 UTCHi, sorry the update is a little late.
Since the Elden Ring video I made some good progress on Gothic, and then switched to working on a Total War Warhammer video. These are the next two planned videos. The Total War video was meant to be more a video for me (as opposed to my boss, the youtube algorithm) as I mostly just wanted an excuse to play some Total War, and the Gothic video is long overdue and needs finishing. I am having a bit of trouble finding the right way to talk about Total War in a way that creates a cohesive and interesting video, but hopefully it will work itself out and the video will be finished within a couple weeks. The Gothic video would then be around a month later. And that’s about it for my future plans. I have been thinking about what comes after that though…
Currently I’m considering taking some time off from making my usual videos to work on something else for a bit. It would basically be like the second channel video I made a while ago, except bigger in scale. Whether that means it would be one long video or multiple videos isn’t something I can tell yet, but it would almost definitely take longer than one month and it might be a bit of a commitment, in more ways than one. If this is what I choose to do, I’ll talk more about it in the future, particularly about my reasoning, but for now I’m just keeping you updated about what I’m thinking about so that if I do do something like this it doesn't come out of nowhere.
On an unrelated note, I’ve also bought a new microphone. I haven’t tested it yet but it’s a Shure MV7 and I’m hoping it sounds better than my previous Blue Yeti. If not I can always switch back. Still, I’ve been frustrated by how my audio quality has taken a dip since moving and I’m not sure what more I can do to improve the room itself so I’m going to try different hardware. The strange thing is there’s really no discernible reason that my audio quality should have been so good in my last house, but for whatever reason it was genuinely perfect and now I’m unwilling to settle for worse.
Lastly, I’m considering streaming for the first time for a one-off 200k subscribers stream where I might talk about the channels history as a sort of mini retrospective and then maybe take questions for a bit. I’m not sure about this though. In many ways I don’t see myself as someone who is a good fit for streaming, but this also seems like something I should check by actually trying it out, and 200k subs is as good a reason as any to do so.
Hmm, Patreon is all different now. I don't like it.

Steam could be cool. You could do a private patreon only stream if you just want to test the waters. Video order doesn’t matter to me. Your content is always thought provoking.
