Channel Update #26 (May) – New Video

It’s on a different channel because it’s not video game related and it’s likely that uploading it to my main channel will just hurt future videos as the algorithm tends to punish people for doing anything too different.
That said I personally think the video is good and I hope you will watch it and enjoy it.
Anyway, I have no future plans for that channel. This isn’t the start of something. I don’t intend to do this again. I just thought the topic was interesting and wanted to try making a video about it. Originally I thought this would only take me about a week (a little bonus video if you like) but I was very wrong about that. It actually took just over 3 and it’s been a bit of a disaster. Still I think the video itself is good at least.
For now though I just need to finish up and move on. I’m going to make a community post and tweet to promote it a little tomorrow. I might try to improve the thumbnail/title as well. I might also talk more about it sometime later.

Very good video. I’ll happily watch your interesting takes on other topics as well. Mixing it up a little from time to time might be a good recipe for avoiding burnout as well.

2022-06-10 08:28:04 +0000 UTCI like long-form video essays about the decline of...everything (bonus points if scummy influencer tactics are involved), so I'm completely onboard with the departure from video games. I think a lot of us are in agreement that this is just as good as your regular content, and there's a lot of potential here if you decide to do more on this channel. (Minor style gripe: it did feel like the video began somewhat abruptly, since I couldn't tell based on the title and thumbnail what it was going to be about, and then it hard cuts into synthwave and a flashy Part One title card).
