Channel Update #24 (Mar) – An update

I don’t usually talk much about my life outside youtube but in the last month I have:

- moved home (I haven’t actually fully moved yet, that will be next weekend, but it feels like I have and I’ve had lots of things to take care of).

- left my job (I have mentioned this before, but I never stopped the job I had before youtube; I just switched to part time and minimal hours. I always figured I’d stop completely one day but covid delayed that as working from home was honestly very relaxing and easy. Still I have now finally left, which will hopefully have some benefits, even if it’s only allowing me to get an extra hour sleep per night).

- ended an 8~ year relationship (not much to expand on here but I’m sure you can appreciate it’s a fairly substantial event).

When I said last update that a new video should be within 2 weeks it seemed realistic but that obviously hasn’t happened. This past month has not been very conducive to productive working. Still the video is really close to completion and I can confidently say it will be up live within a week. The following video should also be a lot sooner as I’ve done some work on it already, although whether it’s the video people want is a whole other question.

I also said last update that I’d give a more substantial update on future videos and future plans, and this will still happen. Next update. Soon.

Finally I just want to say – I’m fine. The reason for the lack of a new video and the things mentioned earlier are obviously all connected but none of them are the result of some crisis or anything. I’m okay, I’m still working, it’s just things have been a bit chaotic and unproductive compared to usual.

Still, thank you for your support and patience.

(Also, because at least one person will ask me… I haven’t played Elden Ring yet; I’ve been busy!)

Man... man! I just started watching your videos a few days ago. I can sincerely tell you that your content is impressive. I have been playing video games all my life, and the amount of information and insight you provide in your videos is of the best quality and greatly satisfying. I am really excited than I can help your work even a little bit, by being a patron. I am glad to know that you are well, please keep doing these videos they are just amazing.

(Just getting to see this post after watching the entire video, I'll start with the comment I left there) "Wow, stellar video. You made me feel nostalgic for a time I didn't experience, and the entire experience of the video was an emotional roller coaster. Looking forward to the next video!" And for an extended response to the above: First, I hope you are doing okay. Amidst a move, myself, so I know the burden of task switching and living minimalist-ically en-transition and the like. Congrats on leaving your job - if thats how you feel. I assume it is a good step for you as that means your passion of video creation is taking priority. If this change is not considered a good one in your eyes, I wish you the best as I assume factors invisible to me are making your life rather difficult at the time. I am very sorry to hear about your relationship, I cannot fathom your emotions here as not having gone through any similar situation. I wish you the best. No one is perfect, don't forget to respect yourself despite your flaws. And next, don't fret about taking a while to get the video out there. Your work quality speaks for itself and I don't think anyone would push you for quantity over quality. Keep on creating what you do in a time-frame that feels manageable and I am certain you will always find yourself a captive audience. Best of luck, looking forward to the future EDIT: Also, i stg, the video had me on the edge of crying. Beautiful production. I cannot think of many things I have spent $9 on with the same quality as what you have given me
