Q and A about cosplay is open for today!

Thank you so much!! :3 (sorry for late reply :( )

Okay! ( sorry my fault ) ;3 Like I said, sleeve opened from under armpit to just below elbow! For the wig, I would use <a href="https://www.arda-wigs.com/products/ferrari-classic?variant=27836534150" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.arda-wigs.com/products/ferrari-classic?variant=27836534150</a> in either wine or maroon ;3

Do you have any tips on making sleeves for Popola's suit and references for the back of the shirt-thing from OG NieR? Any wigs you'd recommend for it? Thank you :3

Have a variety of hoops to hold the fabric - it's the easiest way, especially if the designs are changing sizes. Lots of patience, don't push yourself too much, cause you will send up waking up and not liking what you did in the middle of the night :3 Also, be sure to mark your design ( if you do) with something that won't be seen, or can be washed - I had a problem with using something that made a stain later :<

I have a project with a lot of satin stitching in it coming up, and I've only satin stitched very few times. Do you have any tips or tricks for nice satin stitching?

Princess Lycoris

I would make the designs of the tip, middle part and guard area flat out first. Then use different cylinder shape objects to give it the shape I need after heating it.

Sure thing, once I get home from work tonight I shall take photos of what I’m attempting to work on so you have a better representation to go by

Mike

You're very welcomed! : )

Would you give me the link of a photo in order to visualize your question better? I want to make sure I picture the right thing in my head before leading you to it.

Kuja and LZ

Yes it is

Is that it? <a href="https://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/2071/451906-61____.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/2071/451906-61____.jpg</a>

The cheapest way would be to trace the shapes and paint it on your flat sleeves, collecting all the references you can find and draw yourself the whole pattern first. One other solution is to create the design in Photoshop and print it on fabric. If you are patient enough I think that painting can look very beautiful, for that as long as you take your time with a steady hand and a shape tool to avoid going over the lines when you paint.

Oh I did not think about worbla at all! I could use some of the scraps I have remaining for that. Thank you so much !!

Michèle Leduc

There is a way that I would do and did before is that you could make inverted shape and then with some soft clay you put it in the inverted shape and remove the clay and rince and repeat, clean with sand paper when dry. Explained differently, you make a shape that you like that is dry and hard, after that you could use some greasy spray to avoid it from sticking and could use worbla on top spousing the shape until it forms somekind of a mold. It's a cheating and cheaper way to make mold, it works well depending on the complexity.

I am trying to make Gilgameshs Ea from fate, how would i make the blade part complete circular as in the picture?

Yuepon Fan

Seconding this! I'm curious how you guys did those

Princess Lycoris

I hope this isn't to silly of me to ask, but for Nier, are the elaborate and detailed designs on his arm pieces painted, sewed, or printed on the fabric? Hoping to one day cosplay NieR1 and do it justice that you both have! <3

Drifting By Stars

Any advice for anything involving zippers? Some of my armour I was aiming to improve upon needs zippers to be sewn on, though my current layering consists of a vinyl fabric on top, and a sheet of craft foam with 4ws fabric underneath, and my current efforts to get the 2-3 layers to work together have been giving me trouble.

Mike

Hello hello ♡ It's me again ;-; I was wondering how you would proceed for creating repetitive shapes with either clay or any sculpting material without having acess to molds or casting? I need to create small tokens with a moderate amount of details for pauldrons and I have no money to do silicone casting and so on. Should I create a paper template? Is there a cheaper casting method I could use? Please halp senpais ;-; 💙
