I wanted to say "well done, not well do!"

This vid was very brave of you, well do. I been working on my family tree for a few years and have around 400 names and going back to 1536 ad. I was born in Devon, England, as was my mum. Don't know who my father was, that is another story. Anyway my grandad was also born in the west country and his farther was a German immigrant from Prussia, my family tree proved this fact. Samuel Treuge born 1536 Danzig, (now Poland) and four sons, thus we came. So I did my DNA with My Heritage. Just like you, Woo.. There was no English and no German in my blood. Irish, Scottish and Welsh, (Funny I now live in Wales) 55%, 31.4% Scandinavian, 7.2% Baltic and 5% Finnish and 1.4% Italian. My first thought was, "Hell who the hell am I ?" I had the idea that I was a baby swapped at birth! Yes DNA results can be a surprise. If your dads into this, then surprise him. Kind regards, Alan.

I did my test when I was researching the family tree. Used a company called Family Vault who seem to be really expensive compared to the likes of 23 & me nowadays. Must mean the results are more reliable maybe? The DNA result kind of fits in with what I found out in the research anyway, which is good. My ancestors were illiterate farm hands 300 years ago ๐Ÿ˜ž

As they get more data, the results can change. That's also why different companies can give different results. It all depends on who is in their data base. It would be interesting to see how much your results would change now if doing the test over. You get all your mitochondrial DNA from your mom. That's why they can go so far back on the female side. I can't do these, I'm afraid too many of my relatives are criminals! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I bought my girlfriend a 23 & me test. She sent it off 5 weeks ago & she's still waiting for the results! It prompted me to look up the paternal test I did about 12 years ago. I didn't really understand the results at the time, but when I looked again recently it had loads more easy to understand information. Turns out I'm mostly Spanish/Basque/Italian. I never saw that coming lol! Really want to do a more in depth test now.

I did the 23andme test too and it was really fascinating especially as one of my daughters did it too. 13% Scandinavian here so basically a Viking! You should definitely do it for your Dad and link them.

I did an ancestry DNA test and the result was simply that first I was 89% European Jewish then they revised it to 100%
