Barcelona! It's OK!
Added 2019-02-25 20:02:03 +0000 UTCI've been to Barcelona twice and yeah, it's OK. Not my favourite, but still has its charms (and the sun). I know locals have really struggled with tourism in Barcelona and last time I went, you could definitely feel it.

The thing I like about Europe and back east in the USA is how close so many things are. Even most “long” trips are much shorter than driving across the USA.

2019-02-26 00:01:09 +0000 UTCI think this is fair comment. My wife and I visited in September 2017 - admittedly a day off a cruise ship - and found that service was functional and efficient but not enormously welcoming.

2019-02-25 21:16:03 +0000 UTCOh dear. 😕 We are visiting for the first time in April. Hopefully will get at least a civil reception. I find the friendliness of the locals makes a huge difference especially when travelling solo. This is why I generally favour visiting Greece as l I have found Greeks especially on the quieter Islands to be some of the kindest people in Europe.
