Added 2019-01-28 01:24:54 +0000 UTCI seldom do proper illustrations where I hunker down and focus on just one piece. This one was a bit of a mess from the start, but the end result wasn't the worst I think.
This is the moment right after Dax and Inaki made their vows to each other. That moment-one I think I wouldn't be able to do justice quite yet-felt like a lifetime. It couldn't have been more than a minute or two, but under the semi-translucent veil meant to bring them closer to each other and the Goddess of Day, Vetra, herself, it seemed as if time itself had stopped. Everything around them seemed to quiet. The ocean, just below the hill, was like a whisper between them while every word spoken seemed to vibrate through the thin veil and echo in their ears. It's said that time passes slower when in the presence of the divine. Prior to that moment, neither would have fully believed it, but it was undeniable then, the way time halted, waiting with bated breath just for them. When time began again, it disoriented them. They grew dizzy and giddy and drunk with joy. Dax can barely stand when it hits him what has just occurred. He's laughing and stumbling and Inaki joins in with only a fraction less intensity. He's never been the kind to outwardly show his emotions so seeing the laughter and teeth-bearing smiles surprises everyone there to witness the ceremony.
Neither greater nor worse than the moment before, it's a memory worth remembering well and cherishing.
Who knew weddings could be a moment of such intense happiness?
