Since I have a shoot scheduled with him and co-model Jenny Anne Rose next Tuesday at Proparazzi in Lancaster, I thought now would be a good time to start sharing our first shoot together. He prefers to shoot at Proparazzi, which is a nice location and only about an hour from me. The woman who owns Proparazzi is a single mother and uses what she has to pay the bills - in this case she has an old farmhouse and land and lots of props and an eye for set design. So, she's really created a wonderful niche for herself. It was a smart idea. Many photographers use her property for high school senior photos, family, engagement, and weddings. I've also shot here with Dave Levingston. James shoots entirely on his cell phone and edits on his cell phone, too. His aesthetic is highly stylized and edited and every photo should have the option to have a story represented or being able to be told by looking at the photo. He styled what I was wearing or not wearing, how the clothing or fabric was draped on me, how I was posed, and my expression. I was a human mannequin. This is what a professional model gets paid to do - help a photographer's vision come to life. He was pleased with my "acting" through the lens. This is the first set and we were both loosening up. I think they get much better after this one. Btw, this was a paid shoot, so he did not owe me photos, but kindly sent these to me. A few photographers share photos with me that I'm permitted to share and I appreciate that so I can show you guys (who are primarily photographers that follow me) so everyone can learn from each other and get inspired. It's not necessarily that photographers give me copies of photos when they pay me. Different models have different ideas on this. If you want to follow him he has two accounts on Instagram (one is more spicy) and he is on Twitter. Let me know if you can't find him by searching his name and I'll get links.
