Chapter 120: A Desperate Awakening!

---

“Not good!”

As Uzumaki Kushina erupted with the terrifying power of the Nine-Tails, the elite Cloud ninja around her froze in terror. They had witnessed the wrath of a rampaging Tailed Beast before and knew all too well the devastating might of a Tailed Beast Bomb.

“Run!”

“I’ll kill you all!”

Her voice, dripping with rage, echoed as her tears were instantly evaporated by the overwhelming chakra of the Nine-Tails. Without needing much preparation, she formed a Tailed Beast Bomb fueled by her unprecedented anger and unleashed it toward the densest group of Cloud ninja.

**BOOM!**

The explosion turned the forest into a wasteland. The ground trembled, and the blinding light and deafening roar sent shockwaves across the battlefield.

From afar, Konoha reinforcements stopped in their tracks, staring in horror at the devastation.

“This… this is the power of a Tailed Beast!”

“No! Something’s happened to Kushina!” Uchiha Mikoto’s face turned pale as she realized the danger.

Elsewhere, Orochimaru, witnessing the immense power of the Nine-Tails, couldn’t hide his shock. Though he had seen such destruction before, it never ceased to amaze him.

---

Kushina stood amidst the wreckage, her body trembling as a familiar sensation crept up her leg. Turning slowly, she saw a sealing tag with the kanji for *seat* attached to her thigh.

The raging chakra of the Nine-Tails receded like a tide. Her four tails shrank to three, and her bloodied hands fell limply to her sides.

“Yosuke…”

Her crimson, beast-like eyes softened as she regained clarity. Tears welled up, streaming down her cheeks as she knelt beside Uchiha Yosuke, whose weak smile barely masked his pain.

“Kushina… don’t… let the Nine-Tails’ chakra deplete completely… or you’ll die…”

His voice was frail, his breaths shallow.

Kushina panicked, unsure of what to do. Her tears flowed freely as she turned to Tsunade, who had just arrived.

“Tsunade-nee! Please save Yosuke!”

Kushina’s cries drew the attention of the Cloud ninja, who now noticed the arrival of Konoha reinforcements. Panic spread among their ranks as they realized their time was up.

“Don’t let a single one escape!”

“Kill them!”

Amidst the chaos, Uchiha Yosuke lay in a pool of his own blood, the rain mixing with it as Konoha’s reinforcements arrived and froze at the sight.

“This… this kind of injury…”

The experienced medics among them immediately recognized the hopelessness of his condition.

“Yosuke! Stay with me! Don’t leave us!”

Kushina sobbed uncontrollably, while Tsunade’s trembling hands worked tirelessly to heal him. But it was in vain.

“His chest is shattered, internal organs destroyed… even the so-called strongest medic-nin in the ninja world can’t save him,” someone muttered from a distance.

Orochimaru, standing atop a tree, watched silently. Though his tone was cold, his heart was moved.

“Humans are so fragile… even geniuses like Yosuke fall so easily.”

The scene drove home the frailty of life for Orochimaru, who saw the futility of his past pursuits.

---

Uchiha Yosuke, lying on the cold, wet ground, coughed up blood as he forced his fading eyes open.

“So… cold… I… I don’t want to die here… not before I see an Uchiha become Hokage…”

His feeble voice was punctuated by violent coughs.

“Yosuke, no! You’ll be fine! Believe in Tsunade-nee’s healing!” Kushina sobbed, cradling him.

Tsunade’s tears mingled with the rain as she worked desperately to save him.

“It’ll be fine… the bleeding’s stopped… I’ll save you…” she murmured, her voice trembling.

But Yosuke coughed up more blood, his body trembling.

“Stop it! Don’t! Damn it, just stop the bleeding!” Tsunade shouted, her voice cracking as she fought against the inevitable.

Nearby, Kato Dan lay on the rain-soaked ground, a medic ninja shaking his head as he assessed the situation.

“He’s beyond saving. His organs are destroyed. Do you have any last words?”

Dan coughed up blood, turning his gaze toward Yosuke, who was still fighting to stay alive.

“I… I don’t want to die…”

The desire to survive burned within Dan, but the medic chose to conserve chakra, allowing him to pass peacefully.

---

Back on the battlefield, Uchiha Mikoto arrived, her eyes widening in horror at the sight of Yosuke’s broken body.

“No… this can’t be… Yosuke, how could this happen?”

“Why? Why would you risk your life for me?” Kushina screamed, her tears falling like rain.

“Sorry… this is… the last time…” Yosuke whispered, his hand trembling as he tried to lift it, but it fell back limply.

His Sharingan faded, the three tomoe dissolving into black.

“Stop wasting your chakra… Tsunade-nee… I know… it’s hopeless…”

“You idiot!” Tsunade snapped, tears streaming down her face. “You’re my student! I’m the best medic-nin in the world, and I say you’ll survive!”

But deep down, she hated her powerlessness. If she had even a fraction of her grandfather’s strength, none of this would have happened.

“Sorry… Mikoto… Tsunade-nee… Kushina…”

Yosuke’s voice faded, his gaze drifting skyward as his hand weakly reached for something invisible.

“Fifteen years… like a fleeting dream… Hokage…”

His arm fell, his life slipping away.

---

“NO!”

Mikoto screamed, her Sharingan spinning wildly as tears of blood streamed from her eyes.

The three tomoe fused into a kaleidoscope-like pattern. She clutched her face, her anguish overwhelming her as her Mangekyo Sharingan awakened.

At the same time, Kushina let out a feral roar. Golden light exploded around her, and chains erupted from her back, coiling protectively around the battlefield.

“Kushina… you’ve awakened…” Tsunade whispered, her voice trembling.

Kushina, sensing the surge of power within her, refused to give in to despair.

“Yosuke! You’re going to live!”

She bit her arm, letting her blood flow, and pressed it to Yosuke’s lips.

“Drink! Take my chakra! I’ve awakened the power of the Uzumaki Clan!”

As Yosuke’s body absorbed her unique chakra, his shattered chest began to mend. Tsunade, regaining hope, poured her chakra into Kushina to keep her strong.

Mikoto, her blood-soaked eyes still burning with the Mangekyo’s power, watched with trembling hands as Yosuke’s wounds healed.

---

Hidden in the shadows, White Zetsu observed the scene in shock.

“This… this wasn’t supposed to happen. The Uzumaki girl awakened her powers, and Yosuke survived. What do I tell Madara-sama now?”

His plan to push Yosuke into awakening his Mangekyo through tragedy had gone awry.

---

Within the protective chains of Kushina’s barrier, Yosuke regained his strength.

“You’re safe now, Yosuke,” Kushina whispered, her tears of relief mingling with the rain.

Meanwhile, Yosuke, still dazed, processed what had happened. *This wasn’t my plan… I wasn’t supposed to rely on them, but they… they saved me.*

Though grateful, he couldn’t shake the thought: *They stole my moment.*

---

As the chains receded, Konoha reinforcements stared in awe at the fully healed Uchiha Yosuke.

“He was

… that close to death, and now…”

Their shock was palpable, but in Kushina’s glowing smile and Mikoto’s tear-streaked face, there was only relief.
