Love this story-time. As I told you my grandmother was born in 1900 and she was very influential in my life. As a little girl she got me into gardening, I had my own little patch in her fern house (which seemed like wonderland to me) and always had a flower and vegetable garden (and chickens). Then when I was about 10 she started teaching me to cook with sweets first. How to get a child intrigued - we made toffee, marshmallows and honeycomb, lemon butter (curd) and caramel.
