Don't forget after all of GoT that you need to watch House of the Dragon which is the prequal

me

Only now, while rewatching it, I found a different actress that played role of queen Selise Florent (Dragonstone scene). She looks far more fitting for that role, IMO.

Welcome to Season 2, and the War of the Five Kings!

I usually try to keep my Patreon subscriptions limited to 2 at a time, but Patreon keeps e-mailing me these 60% off coupons, and it's hard to say no. So, anyway, I guess winter is coming...

Season 2 is NOT worse than season 1, V. Its tense and rough, but NOT worse. World building and lots more new characters to remember, lol. Season 3, might take that spot though, lol. We don't need to see Sean Bean's name in the opening credits, V. You know why? ... ...because The North Remembers ;) Halley's comet was here in the 80's. I saw it as a little wee lad, lol, it comes back once every 76 yrs. You'll get a chance to see it, V. Mid-2061 is when it is predicted to return. Less than 35yrs to go. Technically means its on its way back by now. :D They are both Crastor's wives and his daughters, V, lol. They even said it before they showed up at his fire. He weds and breeds with his own daughters, then Jon asked 'what does he do with his sons?' and that question is being left unanswered as of now. Drawing a sword out of the fire, huh? Did we just see it, have we yet to see it, or...have we already seen it?...hmmm, lol. Pulling out? lol, V, you think men were honorable enough to pull out back then? lol, you think ladies of this time period want a KING to pull out of them? lol, V, come on, lol. Idk how much you do know, but you got to know a few things about men and women by now, V, ;) lol Oops, V, dropped an f-bomb and didn't apologize for it, lol, proud of you ;) So Summer years are officially declared over and Winter years are starting. Winter Has Come. This has been the longest Summer in centuries so it is predicted to be a long Winter. One of the Game of Thrones video games adds this lore, the show doesn't, so its not spoilers. So, now we meet Melisandre, the Red Witch, the Red Woman, the Red Priestess of the Lord of Light symbolized by the cleansing fire of life and death. Just like every character, she isn't exactly what she seems. The Lord of Light religion comes from across the sea to the east in Essos (Essos is east, Westeros is west), where Braavos and Khalessi also are, and is coming to Westeros in a similar manner as missionaries going overseas to spread the word. Daenerys is traveling the Red Waste, similar to crossing the Sahara. There are cities on the other side of it, just most prefer to travel by sea to get to those cities and not across the wastes. The big locations of Essos are Braavos, Meereen, Quarth, Slaver's Bay, and Vaes Dothrak (the great grass sea) home of the nomadic Dothraki. Also there is Lhazar, another grassland next to the Vaes Dothrak but separated by mountainous terrain too dangerous for horses so the land is used for sheep herding. In the middle of all these locations is the thousands of mile wide Red Waste. East of all this land is more lands and empires, mostly frozen, which are never brought up in the show; called the Grey Wastes and the Five Forts. And then more lands are across the to the south of Essos but that ends what is called The Known World of this fantasy world. What lies beyond the oceans of these lands, presumably no one knows. What is West of Westeros? What is East of Essos? Completely unknown. For reference, Westeros is sort of broken into 10ish regions from North to South. Beyond the Wall is the northern top of Westeros that ends at the Wall, a small land bridge connecting it to The North. The North is the entire massively middle chunk of land between Beyond the Wall and the rest of the kingdoms to the south; both top (The Wall) and bottom (The Neck) pieces of The North are connected by small land bridges to the rest of Westeros. The Riverlands (directly south of the North, ruled by the Tullys), The Vale (east of the Riverlands, ruled by the Arryns), The Iron Islands (the islands west of the Riverlands, ruled by the Greyjoys), and the Westerlands (just south of the Iron Islands and still west of the Riverlands, ruled by the Lannisters) are the top half of the section below The North. The Crownlands (Kings Landing) and The Reach (ruled by the Tyrells) are to the south of the Riverlands, and east and west of each other, respectively. The Stormlands (rule by the Baratheons) are to the south of the Crownlands and also east of the Reach. Finally, Dorne (ruled by the Martells) is the bottom southern tip of Westeros, south of the Stormlands and also east of the southern tip of the Reach. The Freys, btw, rule the Twins; a toll bridge of sorts within the Riverlands and are technically sworn to House Tully, though are very grumpy about it, lol. The Tarlys, Sam's house, live in the Reach and are sworn to House Tyrell. Maesters also come from the Reach. The Citadel, the center of Old Town, is where they study. Sort of like the medical university of the lands. Finally, Dragonstone, where the Targaryens ruled, is a volcanic island east of The Crownlands (Kings Landing).
