There isn't a single drug that causes hallucinations during withdrawal. The hallucination side effect has more to do with the individual's brain chemistry than the drug itself. Massive drug use can impose any number of long-term psychosis (meth psychosis for example) as withdrawal symptoms but this character only took the drug twice in 2 days. He wouldn't be experiencing withdrawal but the coming down off the high, or the "crash" if you will. Withdrawal occurs usually a couple days after the "crash" but its very rare in non-addicts or those that only took the drug once or twice in a very short period of time. The drugs that could do that have mind altering chemistry like Acid or MDMA/MDA (Molly, Sally, or Sassafras) or a type of Ecstasy (X) or maybe a chemical derivative like DMT (but not likely because that usually only lasts for like 30 mins to an hour) to put it in the form of a pill. Psilocybin (shrooms) might do it but the hallucinations are much less potent but I don't know if that comes in colorful pill form, lol. Doubtful but could also be Peyote or similar type like Ayahuasca. There is also Kambo or Sapo/Vacinado-sapo; made from the poison secretions of frogs but that usually makes you very queasy on top of the hallucinations. And very unlikely that its a form of Salvia, extreme hallucination experience but you lose muscle control on that drug and its very temporary like less than 30min. The hallucinations on some of these drugs often involve the 'mood' or 'vibe' or 'head space' you bring to the experience to determine what kind of 'trip' you'll most likely have and they have a duration of around 16 hours to around a day or so before you come down off of them, usually. We could assume he took the second pill during the last hours of the first pill's effects, thus elongating the 'trip'. If we look at his behavior these last 2 seasons, it would make sense that his trip is most likely going to be a bad one. He was obsessed with a girl that he just met that was just nice to him and protecting him from bullies. He was submissive to his bullies, which he clearly resented. He knows he is a coward by the way he let the girl die. And he is forced to play these games to survive. Not the best scenario for some recreational drug use, lol. The drugs, combined with the severe anxiety and stress of the intrusive thoughts he is experiencing, would most likely cause instability enough for hallucinations. They can manifest in the form anything: auditory, visual, olfactory, imbalance, any of the 8 senses really but auditory and visual are the most common. As you can see, by making it multi-colored pills and, I believe Thanos called it 'something special' or 'something new', and by very specifically NOT identifying it, I feel they intentionally made it out to just represent "drugs" (a macguffin) so they could explain away any reaction/behavior on it (the Reefer Madness troupe) and not something specific. Its very common in Asian films to over explain. Its a part of their language patterns and speech. Often you'll see, especially in anime, a character will say how they are feeling, then another character will repeat the line but as a question. First character: "I am so angry!" Second character: "What? You say you're so angry?" lol, completely unnecessary and somewhat annoying, lol in our culture. But its a part of their culture and language because many words in Asian languages have multiple meanings that can be completely different from each other depending context, tone, and emotions/expressions. Saying a word could mean a strong emotion in one scenario but in a different context it could mean 'shampoo' as well, lol. So there is a lot of affirming, validating, and over explaining in their communication. It frustrated me in the beginning before I studied more about languages and culture, too, lol. Survival is a devastating reality and its an odd lesson that we need to realize, be aware of, and carry within us but our species had surpassed survival. I have always found it odd how much many people want us (well a portion of the population while they thrive) to go back to a survival mind set. I understand why they desire it; power, control, money, to prove they are right about how we aren't better than we think we are and never will be. I get it but the odd thing, to me, is why they don't accept it can't be different or shouldn't be different. Our technology and understanding is far surpassed what we have ever been but a portion of the population refuse to consider we can't be better than we are. Saddens me. So its interesting that you look at this scenario, V, and believe if you were in there, you'd peace out. I feel the point of the show is that Gi-hun is suppose to be us. I feel we are suppose to see how someone, like yourself V, would sort of accidentally survive if you were literally forced to be in this situation, from season 1 to now, and how it could possibly change all of us into where Gi-hun is; at least he is one outcome of that change. Shows and movies like this, i feel, are suppose to show you it is possible you could end up surviving this situation but that it will change you, permanently. Which informs me about if something like this is to happen to me, then i need to acknowledge what I value more; is it one or more of my principles over my life. I found that to be a huge confrontation of one's own reality and perspective and I would go as far as to say that I feel everyone should consider such things, internally and often. Especially after you learn something new or see the world, life, the universe, and reality though a different lens or perspective. Which principle can you let go of and which will you take to the grave? I found Walking Dead to be a great show for these sorts of questions and considerations. I found that trying to survive is half choice and half luck, too. There is a choice in every situation but the results and consequences of that choice, plus the unknown variable of unrelated events just happen to bump into your event, make survival unpredictable thus holding on to your principles gives them more worth since literally anything can happen to anyone at any minute. Yet we still survive, in spite of those variables. It bothers me sometimes that people don't consider this and choose to succumb to these base primal survival behaviors, just because 'why not'. Anywho, lol, finale here we come :)
