Tried to watch the alternate ending on YouTube with this reaction, but I guess it's edited differently than the one in the alternate ending attached to the full film. The alternate ending used to just be a DVD bonus feature.

2025-07-23 16:13:07 +0000 UTCYes, I did know it was a book and was made into films before. I did not watch the alternate ending with you because there wasn't an option to watch it without buying it. I rented the theatrical version then switched to the alternate ending clip on YT. I'm telling you just in case you want to consider that going forward. Without spoilers, imo, although the alternate ending is more true to the novel. It's not lined up with Robert's character arc that is established throughout the film, which is why the theatrical ending is the way it is. It's more in line with Robert's character arc as it has been written within this film. The alternate ending makes more sense in the novel because Robert is written slightly different.
