I think this kind of love does exist, the ones who believe in it just rarely find each other.

2025-02-17 18:20:08 +0000 UTCOh, I forgot the details of this movie and how much I relate to a lot of it. Got me thinking back to when I was 19 years old and just madly in love for the first time. I'm feeling the same "hole in my heart" emotions you're feeling, Vee. Brutal. But it's so good. Such a great movie.

2025-02-16 20:41:00 +0000 UTCI also avoided this movie until now. I heard people talk about this film when it came out and it wrecked them, so I steered clear, lol. But I'll sit with you and cry. Dang V, the things i put up with you. ;) lol Schindler's List is hard to watch a second time, not because of the content but because it's 3hrs and has very little sound track that I fall asleep every time I do a re-watch, lol. I really recommend Waking Ned Devine. Yes, it's old people but it's such a joyful Irish film. ...(sat and watched with you) Now I have headache, too. I have a friend with schizophrenia. I visit her from time to time, we talk every day on the phone. When she's having delusional episodes, I pull her back to reality. My voice calms her. I tell her I'm her anchor to what is real so she can find her way back. You can't ever lie to schizophrenic. Not even small white lies, like when she's twirling around saying she's angel, you can't validate that. She tried to kill herself once so she could free the angel inside her all because people kept validating her by say 'yes you are sweetie, you're a pretty little angel". Plus, if they catch you in a lie, they subconsciously will never trust you again. She takes her meds which helps her to be fine most of the time. But stories about dementia, alzheimers, schizophrenia hit me hard. I studied abnormal psych and i can visualize very well how she sees reailty. I see it as a crime if I were to leave her. The things abandoning her would do to her mind. Lost in her delusions. I'm over a decade older than her and I have an auto-immune disorder. So the thoughts of her and my future always bring tears. I've already sorted out the steps if she were to die before me, but if we're to die before her...well, the reality is that she probably won't be that far behind me. I've pulled her out of abusive relationships, away from drug dealers, rescued her from sex-traffickers, once she was held hostage in her own apartment by a thug with shotgun for 2 weeks that just decided her apartment belonged to them now (this wasn't all at once, I've known her for a long time). So if were to die before her, I don't think she'd make it. She is getting more independent as she gets older, like lots of improvement has happened over the years but its slow, so I hope we both have enough time to get her to the point where she'll make it without me. That's why I avoided this film until now. And watching it with you made it feel bearable.
