But it's finally here and omg was this a wild ride.. I laughed, I cried, I was confused but man was I in awe of the visually stunning work❣️

While I'm not a huge fan of the DCEU, I actually do like this film the more times I see it because I do think it's a good script. I liked the Ultimate Verison much more than the theatrical cut. I think this was the 4th time I've seen it, and I only just realized that that camera dude was Jimmy Olsen(famous non-superhero Superman sidekick/side character). I know I remember hearing his name the first time I watched, but I don't think I ever put two and two together and realized he was the one who got immediately killed. Guess Snider isn't a fan of the character, haha. The big battle at the end is a bit.... unrememberable and generic? I think Zach Snyder makes films which look too similar to each other, although I love how this films's first half looks. He made great work with 300, and Watchmen, but with a lot of MOS and films afterwards the cinematography just became too much of a copy/paste shtick with fights where you sometimes can't tell what happened. I do hope you continue with it though. They would be fun to watch for the first time right before watching your reactions. I haven't seen any films after Wonder Woman(which I actually loved), never saw Justice League, I guess because I just thought it would be more of the same like this, and I need to finally find out if I like it and the films after.

DC Extended Universe in release order after Batman v Superman: Suicide Squad (2016) - meh, introduces Jared Leto as Joker and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn; Wonder Woman - fantastic; Justice League (Snyder Cut specifically) - fantastic imho; Aquaman - pretty fun, like an Indiana Jones/National Treasure vibe; Shazam - meh; Birds of Prey (Harley's solo movie) - very fun; Wonder Woman 1984 - meh; THE Suicide Squad (2021) - this one is a hit (James Gunn is the director, also leads into the amazing spin-off show Peacemaker starring John Cena on Max, truly incredible, V, only 1 season rn); Black Adam - meh; Shazam 2 - meh; The Flash - tainted now by Ezra Miller's rep, also meh lol; Blue Beetle - funny but meh; and Aquaman 2 - big action flick, buddy cop movie kinda vibe, not bad. The ultimate edition of Batman v Superman is far better than the theatrical release but all the odd dreams and snips and Lex's weird psychotic break are suppose to give foreshadowing to the events in Justice League but because the DCEU wasn't managed well it kinda fell apart, hence the Snyder Cut of the Justice League which rounds out the all the loose ends and confusion WAY better. Unfortunately, Snyder's vision of the DCEU is now scraped with the new Superman movie coming out. They are sort of rebooting the DCEU attempt. Henry Cavill was a great Superman. He was playing Witcher and Superman at the same time, too. Sad that he won't play the Witcher anymore either, he really got screwed with losing both jobs. A lot of people didn't like Jesse as Lex but also loved Ben as Batman. Kevin Smith loves saying that he always knew Ben would make a great Batman, from all the way back when he first worked with him in Mall Rats. Lastly, the big baddie in here is Doomsday. Genetically designed to kill Superman. In the comics, he comes from space, sent by Darkseid (the sort of DC version of Thanos). He instantaneously evolves against every thing that harms him and turns it into a strength. In the comics, he is one of the ways Superman dies, depending on which story line you follow, seeing as how comics reboot character arks all the time. For comic book nerds, Doomsday's presence here is meant to help with the foreshadowing for Justice League.

Snyders vision was heavily ruined by the studio, but with his extended Justice League released in 2021 sees it trough very well imo. It is also the most direct continuation from this one. Also Luthor in this movie more resembles Lex Luthor Jr. Which changed my perspective on his character from negative to positive. Love the reactions and welcome back to streaming!!

When I was a kid the death of Superman was a HUGE deal in the comics. This movie borrows heavily from The Death of Superman storyline and The Dark Knight Returns comics by Frank Miller. Was really shocked to see your reaction to it. Great overall. I’m gonna encourage you to push forward with the series, but there are going to be so many low points with some great moments that lead to the upcoming DCU and Creature Commandos. You got Suicide Squad which is NOT a good movie, BUT it gives us a tremendous Harley Quinn with Margot Robbie as well as her own spin off movie, Birds of Prey. That gets us the James Gunn reboot, The Suicide Squad which gives us Peacemaker which is a TREMENDOUS TV show… and from what we know right now the events of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are in continuity with the new DCU. Blue Beetle may take place in the new DCU, but that’s up in the air still. Tho the actor is still signed up for more films as the character, it’s still uncertain how he’ll be used.

2025-02-04 23:57:55 +0000 UTCHey vee, when you watch Justice League after wonder woman, be sure its the "Snyder Cut" Zack Snyder didnt direct the theatrical because his daughter Autumn passed away. So a couple years later he came back to direct the "Snyder Cut" to give the fans what they want and to make the movie in his original vision. He also made the snyder cut in memory of his Daughter Autumn who loved every super hero movie he made. He wanted to make it the best he could like his daughter was watching. The snyder cut is a long movie, like Lord of the RIngs Lenght. Trust us, you will love it.
