Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) Full Length Reaction!

Hey guys!!

Here’s Mad Max: Fury Road 🥰 this was an insanely fun movie with astounding visuals and sound design. The entire world itself was so vibrant and yet utterly dystopian and chaotic. I had an absolute blast experiencing this, I could only imagine what it must’ve been like seeing it in theaters🥹🥲

Lemme know what you guys think of the mooovie ANNNND tell me if you think it’s worth watching the sequel - Furiosa! (I’ve heard mixed reviews so I need you guys to be honest and direct me 😆) I trust your judgement 🥰

LOVE YOU GUYSSS P.S.DROPPING DEATH NOTE TOMORROW WITH SOME BETTER CALL SAUL SINCE IT WASNT POSTED YESTERDAY!

So in the movie universe it takes place in Australia, however, it was filmed, at least partially in Namibia. I found this out when I was there the year after this came out. I got to see some of the filming locations!

Found it odd that vee was laughing at Max's PTSD. There is lots of people who wake up like that in a frantic after an episode (im one of them). Just found it odd that of all the times to laugh and make jokes, that was a little insensitive imo. Just be mindful in the future.

Lol I watched the black and chrome version too, I even turned the color off on my phone so the reaction was black and white 😆

Matt

Also Vicky! At the 1:24 mark you asked why everyone is Australian - the first Mad Max movie from i think the 70's/early 80's (starring a VERY young mel gibson btw), Max is a police officer in Australia as the governments start to collapse. Really interesting movie. I definitely recommend watching the original Mad Max films, will give you a lot of context. The second movie, Road Warrior is my favorite. You get to be introduced to lord humongous and his gayboy berzerkers.

its crazy what you'll do for milkies in the apocalypse

Dale Diaz

i swear to god vee i thought you were gonna say "it's called fury road so i predict there is going to be an angry road" lololol

Dale Diaz

this was actually the 4th movie of the series, that's why you didn't get any of max's backstory and minimalist flashbacks that you wanted to explain more of max great reaction! love to watch this movie any time

Furiosa is fantastic.

You're really missing out on the Mad Max video game, btw. Its a real sleeper hit. Honestly. So this is the 4th Mad Max film but, with Furiosa now out, it is the last in the storyline (film 5, chronologically). Mad Max, the first film, is crazy different. Its the beginning of the fall of the world, this is where Mad Max was a cop. The second film, Mad Max: Road Warrior, we see the beginning of his legendary status. Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome is by far the biggest hit until Fury Road came out. Each film, Mad Max gets a group of followers, not by his own desire. So the beginning of this film was flashes of the many friends and family he made and lost. Mad Max's trauma is that he always survives, while his friends don't, mostly because they sacrifice themselves for him. He has a lot survivors guilt but instead of depression, it hardens him more and more. So the resources that are important enough to kill for are oil, gas, and water. This desert land that all the films take place in is the Ocean Bed of the Pacific Ocean, near Australia. The Oceans have receded, possibly dried up, so far no one has ventured out far and come back to say otherwise.

FURIOSA is a bit of a flop, money wise. Didn't go so well at the box office but the response from critics and from audiences who did see the movie are pretty high! Would recommend you watch it too!

I decided to watch the black and chrome version with your reaction; it’s a really interesting experience to see it without the colours. Similar to David Fincher’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, when it’s stripped down you can really see what the director is doing and where they want you to look. The language they use, aqua cola, mcfeasting, etc and their religion, is constructed like their cars with bits welded on and useful parts used interchangeably. Fury Road is the fourth Mad Max movie which is why there’s no back story for Max but he’s intended to be a wandering samurai figure of the wasteland.

You should watch Lawrence Of Arabia to keep the trend going 🥵🤣

Heck yeah I love this movie a lot! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I would like to see what you think of Furiosa because I was disappointed in it. I will say that the only reason I didn’t like Furiosa is because I felt like the pacing dragged in most parts and main side characters were SO underdeveloped. Although, I didn’t mind the more heavier use of vfx in the action scenes, which I know some people criticised quite a bit. I thought Anya Taylor Joy and Chris Hemsworth were great but I think the story did suffer a lot. Mainly since it’s unnecessary backstory which is already told in this movie. But anyway, I’m not here to give a review on a different movie! Keep up the good work! #Paddington2ReactionWhen?

Agreed 👍

Matt

Fury Road takes place over a period of three days while Furiosa tells a story that spans years so the pacing is very different. That said there are several action sequences in Furiosa that are as hyper kinetic and revolutionary as anything in Fury Road. If there are negative reviews (I’ve seen it twice, it’s a masterpiece) I’d factor in people not liking original ideas and not liking movies with girl names in the title as possible reasons. Dune 2 is the only comparable movie of the past year and Furiosa is a lot pulpier and grimier. It’s a very good time.

Children Of Men La La Land Past Lives Ruby Sparks Just saying 😋

Matt

Watched a ton of reactions to this but I have a feeling yours is going to be right up there with the very best Vicky 🙌 looking forward to checking it out over the weekend with a few beers and snacks 🫶

Ian

Guess I'm resubscribing to Max a week earlier than I planned JUST FOR YOU, Vee. Also because holy shit I love this movie. I really REALLY liked Furiosa, and I've been itching for a rewatch.

MrAlexSan

Absolutely love all the Mad Max films all for different reasons definitely check out Furiosa its amazing imo just a lot different to Fury Road, thanks V 😊

Matt

FURY ROAD and FURIOUSA are different kinds of movies, really. The first is all about the kinetic action and visuals while the second is more about lore and storytelling. I appreciate both for what they are and they complement each other well.

_tragicmike

Furiosa is good but not up to the standard of FR. It's doing it's own thing

Kelvin

We’ve been watching too many hydrophobic desert films lately 😆😆
