I'm just assuming, but you just might be jumping to conclusions faster than you should when it comes to gut feelings and/or maybe not catching or spotting every detail yet/reading too much or too little into details. It takes training and some study. I've read a couple FBI training books on lie detection and body language. As well as some acting/improv, film studies, script/screen writing, and literary work study courses. Plus have degrees in Psych, philosophy, and HR studies. I still get things wrong but don't focus on the win/lose ratio just focus on grabbing details. The win/loss will sort itself out.

2024-01-02 01:44:52 +0000 UTCThat all makes so much sense, it's just sad because you have a shared trauma - I know grief is different for every person but its okay to feel your feelings, just maybe not put it on someone who is also grieving to a similar degree that you are. :(( that's what makes me sad AND TRUE I DIDNT HAVE A GOOD FEELING but he seemed so innocent 😭 something just wasn't right and Cecil seems to be pretty good at picking that up LOL That's okay TJ! I actually really enjoyed the little ramble :) I didn't know that that's how the "gut feeling" works but its fascinating and I love to learn about it, maybe I'll look into more information about it as well :) it worries me because somehow... my gut has been proven time and time again, to consistently be wrong - I wonder and am quite concerned about what that says about me LOL

You go, V. So proud of you getting so worked up. Wrong is wrong. I will say, however, that pain and grief are...difficult to navigate with logic and reason. At least at first. It can be hard to feel for the wife of your partner's killer. Many would feel the same, "how could you not know?!" When the pain dulls, he might apologize. But she isn't use to hiding who she is, and that was the rule of the group, and people in pain crave bonding. There is an actual rule in treatment programs to not date during treatment and also not for a year after treatment, at least. It creates codependency thus negating the progress of treatment. Most people do break that rule, then eventually end up back in treatment programs. Its hard. He was wrong to blame her and abandon her/kick her out of the group for Nolan killing his partner but pettiness is one of many typical reactions to pain and grief. He was wrong but he can be forgiven if he can deal with chip on his shoulder. I didn't trust that bug for a second, lol. Their whole interaction started with deception and manipulation. If Mark's rep alone was the reason this alien crossed galaxies to ask for help, why then pretend to be a fictional character. His rep is 'spreading across the cosmos like wildfire' pfft, lol. Leave it to a teenager's ego to think they're talking about him like he's the hero of space, lol. He's only been as far as Mars, lol. It had Nolan stink all over it. That's how Nolan sees humans. We have to be tricked by a wizard dog like toddlers distracted by bright colors and cute pets. Edit: this is literally just a ramble so you can ignore it, lol, TLDR. Do you know why they say to listen to your gut? There are brain cells in your gut, seriously. No, you don't have a brain in your gut, lol, just some cells that are exactly like the cells in your brain; a gut brain if you will, lol. They act as a warning system for the internal workings of your body. Stress causes physical reactions. Your gut warns you that something inside you body is experiencing stress. Of course, context matters; did you just eat, do you feel distress or pain, feverish, or are you not paying attention to a psychological concern, or even an external stimulus. Your gut doesn't know. All it knows is that you are uncomfortable for some reason and its telling you to figure it out. Now, the 'listen to your gut' phrase deals with a chain events. Your gut is telling you that something is stressing out your body. The phrase is often used when your subconscious is picking up on something that you're not fully aware of. Your senses grab everything. Every stimulus you are being exposed to is grabbed by your senses and sent to the brain. Its impossible to function while being fully aware of literally everything so your brain filters out everything except only what you are choosing to pay attention to. Your subconscious, however, doesn't. And if your subconscious picks up on something possibly problematic or skeptical, then it causes a stress reaction in the body, which your gut picks up on, then tries to warn you about. Now, your subconscious can be wrong, especially if you are inexperienced with the red flags of life. All it does it is try to grab your attention with something it caught and said to itself, "what's up with that?" So take gut brain and subconscious skepticism with a grain of salt. The more experience and knowledge you get, the more training your subconscious gets at recognizing things as they are. Which takes a lot of burden off your gut brain so it can focus more on communicating your health to you rather than subconscious concerns. And that is why they say listen to your gut. :)
