Let me just say that I almost stopped watching this show at two points just because it is so graphic and didn’t feel like my cup of tea. Turns out it was EXACTLY my cup of tea, I just had to keep watching to understand its brilliance! So you’re not alone, I totally get being unsure if it’s something you want to subject yourself to haha.

Mentally preparing yourself for season 1 of AOT is a good idea, lol. Season 1 is reallyyy heavy, lol. This is why AOT became sooo huge sooo quick was because of the first season. One thing I love about AOT is that we learn about the world at the pace the characters do. And there is a TON of lore you still don't know yet but it will unfold as the show goes on. Answers will be had, explanations will be provided. But gird yourself because season 1 has 20 more episodes. I will say this, think of AOT as a crash course to see if you can handle Neon Genesis Evangelion, lol.

AWW THANK YOU KELLIE 😊 I feel a bit bad sometimes being emotional so thank you :’) this is a very dark and emotionally taxing anime, for now I’m afraid going into each episodes and witnessing more horrors (they somehow outdo themselves in terms of incomprehensible horrors with each passing episode 😭) but I trust the process and if so many people are saying it’s one of the best ever and will be a favorite, then I believe it :) SOOO many more coming very soon!! I’m bingeing it’s too good LOL

I see!! Thank you for your detailed response and insight ☺️ I do appreciate it a lot and take it into consideration when watching dub/sub. I may randomly alternate because this is the kind of show I REALLY want to pay attention to visuals and every detail on screen, and that is just more possible with dub :) but if it gets better later I can probably hold off!! And I will absolutely trust the process, I’ve heard too many good things there’s no way I can’t 😊

I’m feeling that with each of these episodes DANNY it’s so friggin good

VKunia

Thank you for no spoilers :) I see, I haven’t compared them back to back but I feel like both are good in my opinion!! I prefer dub in certain cases because it’s easier to articulate my thoughts when I can hear and understand what is being said, rather than reading and also coming up with my own ideas (if that makes sense ☺️)

Please don’t apologize for your feelings and reactions! This show will put you through emotions like no other, but I promise promise promise that it’ll all be worth it and you’ll end up wondering how any show can be this good. When I first started watching it, I could never have imagined it would become tied for my favorite of all time. You really can’t even begin to guess where this show will take you. Each season is better than the last and by the time season 4 rolls around, it’s just a genius masterpiece. THAT is the good news I bring you, that all of the tension and stress will be worth it. And you haven’t even met some of the best characters yet! Loved your reaction and I’m so glad we’ll be getting more of this one soon! 🙏

Rest in peace Eren, this anime would have been even greater with you present instead of just in flashbacks. Yes Vicky, just like with Breaking Bad, this is gonna be emotionally draining and stressful, but in the good kind of way from a well-written show. The GOOD NEWS you want to get you through it Vicky, is that the show is immensely awesome and great even as it is heavy on the nerves and with mental tension. Whatever your top drama shows are, this anime is gonna get right up there, let's get some bets on that. Other reactors, from writers to teachers to new and seasoned anime fans, they are impressed by how high the show goes, and how well it is written, how visceral the drama gets. IF at any point you have doubts, like I did at a couple of points, just go with it and give the story a chance, it goes places. And to your other question, SUBBED is the way to go. The acting is notably better by degrees of magnitude, even when the dubbed gets better in later seasons. Some actors alone are a big reason to stick with subbed, let alone all the other great actors later on, one or two worthy of all the awards, and everyone gets their turn on the spotlight. The DUBBED is just plain lacking, especially these early seasons, especially in the most heart-wrenching moments throughout the show, it just doesn't punch the same. Of course, those of us used to watching second-language films and shows since childhood have no problem with subtitles and watching the moving pictures, and others may just prefer their own language and like the dub instead, so you decide, whatever you enjoy the most.

I was so shook when I first watched this episode! My jaw was on the floor and had to watch more!

Danny Johnston

or you just can't understand the words they're saying so the only thing you can pick up on is tone

Dale Diaz

In my point of view, Japanese audio is better because there is more emotions in the voice (just personal feeling). Sorry we can't say anything without taking the risk to spoil you. If I remember correctly, the battle for trost arc as ten episode, so be ready :)

Felhrem

I always watch dub because I wanna look at the pictures instead of read.

Yesss I'm so ready
