Makes me think of The Major from Ghost in the Shell.

Mrdelta

To add to the audible thing it because the credits (depending on what country your in) only cost $15 CAD for the monthly plan It's part of why I buy the book in ebook and audible (and support the patreon though the early chapters are also good too)

Calendar

Oh, one question to be sure. when you say "If you read it on KU, and buy the book in the same month, I only get paid for the purchase" is that a calendar month, or a 30-day interval?

Robert Hammack

I enjoy both styles, but prefer this one, personally.

Robert Hammack

good to know I've mostly been doing it wrong then. I mostly have KU to experiment and read stuff I'm not sure I'll like, but when you say "If you read it on KU, and buy the book in the same month, I only get paid for the purchase. The KU page reads vanish." I've been getting your books on KU as soon as available, since it's essentially free, then buying in a week or two to free up a KU slot, since I want your books as a permanent part of my library anyway. now I know to wait a month or so, so you'll get paid twice that way :) My cost is the same, but you'll get approx double the money -a win-win in my book, lol

Nothing wrong with anime style Miu. But I definitely prefer this art style for the different characters.

James Strozier

Cool, thanks :D! Now I know when to buy it too.

2-3 weeks after probably

Is the omnibus going to be released when SSOSH 3 comes out? Or a month or two after?

Hm. I'll break this down into bits. KU/Purchasing interactions: Purchasing a book, or reading it on KU, increases my sales rank either way. Reading it on KU will generate slightly less money for me, than buying it, but not much. If you read it on KU, and buy the book in the same month, I only get paid for the purchase. The KU page reads vanish. KU-I get half a penny (or a bit less) per page read. A book has to be over a certain length for it to break even on a Purchase vs a KU read. I think I'm slightly under that break point, but i'm not far off. Purchasing an e-book- I get 70% of it. Straight up, that's my cut. It's really not bad. Purchasing a paperback- I sacrificed most of what I could make on these to keep the costs low for customers. The print cost isn't small. Audible books- Honestly, this is where I make the least amount of money. Sometimes it's as little as 10% or 20%. The highest it'll ever be is 40%. The audible credit system makes it slightly worse because I don't get credited $20 when a token is used. I can honestly understand why so many authors don't bother with Audiobooks. They're just not that... good... for an author. I mostly put them out anymore because there's a subsection of fans who only do audiobooks. Patreon- I receive 90% of whatever is sent my way. 5% for fees and 5% cut is all Patreon takes. It's really not bad. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

question for William whats the relative breakdown on supporting you as far as money in your pocket? I.E. do you get more if we go KU for books, but buy the omnibus at full price, buy each book individually and just pick up the omnibus extra chapter here, etc. I normally get the individual books via KU, then buy them on the next payday I can afford them, etc. but we can't all afford that, I'm guessing.

Robert Hammack

Yes.

Winner, winner.
