Would love some more insight from anyone who follows BIBI - I am so curious about any potential messaging she is really trying to get across, or if she is writing from her own stories. There is so much violence in her MV's (well the ones I have seen) which makes me wonder if there is any symbolism or any deeper meaning behind the epicness of her music.

To expand on what Surina said, her music videos are inspired from a lot of horrible experiences she has gone through in person, like in her music video for Vengeance. BIBI said(taken from an article) that she was immersed in writing the lyrics to 'Bibi Vengeance' after she went through a horrible experience. She said, "My thoughts then were that I could forgive once, but never twice." On what the "horrible experience" was, she explained, "It was a relationship problem, and if I report it, someone will have to go to jail. “ "Some people are probably filled with hatred, but I hope that you can relieve those feelings through this song." So yeah… it’s really dark when you think about it and what situations she must have gone through that if she spoke up, someone would be in jail. I hope this explains a little more on why her videos are like that.

2023-04-25 21:12:13 +0000 UTCSo, the festival I’m going to is called HipHopPlaya (apparently I listen to HipHop now? I didn’t a month ago). The line-up is pretty great for it (Jay Park, B.I, Coogie, Lee YoungJi, Bobby, BeWhy, Crush, DPR LIVE, BIBI, pH-1, to name a few that you guys might know). And I am very much hoping for a Bobby x B.I stage (please pray with me). Coogies song has the same beat as Jay Parks’ song ‘Mommae’ (몸매), which got me very confused the first time listening to it. He has a bunch of good songs that I will try to get you to listen to during the lives… (that and more Bobby, I will never stop pushing the Bobby agenda on people) And yes, it’s the ‘I’d do it everyday, getting buck, buck, buck’ that’s stuck in my head. It was stuck in my head during one of my midterm exams, it was horrible. Jotto’s MV can be seen as a toxic relationship that she gets out of by ‘killing’ the man, and the other woman handcuffed to him can be seen as either someone else he was seeing or (more likely, in my opinion) herself — that she was stuck with him and had to sacrifice a part of herself to get out of the relationship. I’ll gladly request more hiphop if people are interested in hearing it. I've been corrupted from clubbing one too many times in Hongdae.

2023-04-25 06:48:47 +0000 UTCRegarding BiBi most of her music is based on her life and the rest is her telling a story, I wished I knew more but I’m a few months in to finding Bibi and getting to know her music and MV’s. Kazion can be taken in two different directions one it’s about gambling, the second is human trafficking and in the MV she was clearly conveying human trafficking. BiBi song Farm animal is supposedly based on Kill Bill and it makes especially with the ending credits is very similar to Kill Bill but there is another theory that the song is based on a book called Animal Farm where the animals wanted to be like humans, like talking and do things that humans do but the animals got greedy and started trying to control everything, like politics. BiBi has talked about how she was in an abusive relationship. For me Bibi music and MV has multiple interpretations of stories she is trying to tell whether it’s based on her own experiences or a story and this is my interpretation on her music and reading things she and her fans have said. Hope this helps and I didn’t confuse you more. Also hopefully someone with more knowledge can tell you more.
