Ryan then looked at Rosseline, who seemed a bit more nervous than the other two. “As for you, Rosseline, stay here. Sit on the lower floor and listen to every conversation happening in the inn. The people who come here will surely talk about various things, perhaps without realizing their importance. Order food or drinks as an excuse to stay there, listen to their conversations. You don’t need to ask anything, just listen and absorb as much information as possible.”
Rosseline nodded obediently, though there was a hint of doubt in her eyes. However, Rosseline knew that this was an opportunity to prove herself.
After giving instructions to each of them, Ellina, who was usually more composed, suddenly asked, her voice soft yet attentive, “So, Young Master Ryan, what will you be doing tonight?”
Ellina's calm tone carried a hint of concern, as if she could already guess that Ryan was planning to do something risky. Ryan looked at Ellina with a smile that was almost reassuring, although the smile didn’t entirely dispel the worry in Ellina's eyes.
“Me?” Ryan replied, this time his voice sounded relaxed, almost as if he were downplaying the danger he might face. “I’ll just take care of a few small matters. Nothing for you to worry about. Just do your tasks well.”
Ryan hid his true intentions behind his casual words. Although Ryan knew that what he was about to do was not trivial, he didn’t want to make them anxious. Tonight, Ryan would perform the Summoning of a Servant—a step that could not be considered risky, but was essential to strengthen the team. However, Ryan chose not to tell them too many details, especially since he didn’t want to appear weak or make them worry more than necessary.
Hearing Ryan's confident tone, Ellina slowly began to calm down, although a worried expression still lingered on her face. She knew Ryan was someone capable of handling many things, but there was something about tonight that made her feel uneasy.
“Now,” Ryan continued, “let’s go down and have dinner first before we proceed with our tasks.”
With a small gesture of Ryan's hand, the white world of the Reality Marble slowly faded away, and they returned to the narrow, dimly lit inn room.
The silence that had filled the air was broken by the creaking of wood beneath their feet as they prepared to descend to the dining area. However, behind the calmness they displayed, each of them knew that tonight would be a long and mysterious night.
After finishing dinner, the atmosphere in the inn felt more relaxed. Ryan, Ellina, and Charlotte went upstairs, leaving Rosseline on the lower floor.
Rosseline played her role perfectly—sitting in a corner of the dining area, ordering extra food and drinks, while calmly observing and listening to the conversations around her.
Upstairs, just after arriving in the room, Ellina and Charlotte disappeared into the shadows of the night, going off to carry out their tasks. Ryan was now alone.
Ryan stepped closer to the window, gazing at the starry night sky that felt cold and silent. With a smooth motion, Ryan grabbed his black cloak, covering his body, and pulled the hood until his face was shrouded in shadow.
Without a sound, Ryan jumped out of the window and landed on the dark roof of the house. From one roof to another, Ryan leaped like a shadow moving swiftly, unseen by anyone below. The night air felt cold, but Ryan was undeterred—his focus was entirely on his mission.
