I hadn't even thought about the fact that he can't practice solo either! Oh wow! And thank you for the backup on the phone lines!

Very true! I forgot how ruthless Saul really was! I think when you think of BB you think of all the awful things that happened, but you don't really tie much to Saul since he was not our main baddie!

OMG not Wendy! I had to google her name because I couldn't remember that character. The actually married theory would literally break my heart!!!

D&S, the look on your faces was priceless when you both realized exactly what chuck was trying to do with that lantern. its a horrible emotional gut punch!

careful about possible spoilers, even if it was your own personal theory at this time....

I never heard that theory before and it's pretty funny. π
My personal theory was that Saul was married to Kim the entire time Breaking Bad was taking place, but we never saw her because we never saw his private life away from being Walt's lawyer. Then, in the last few episodes of BB, he made his coldest choice ever and willingly left her behind when he used the vacuum salesman to get another identity and leave town.

I am so here for Sam's rejection of Jimmy's "good qualities". Don't let his lying, fake ass off the hook girl, he's a walking red flag. Sam doesn't have time for bad boys. Daniel, on the other hand, thinks bad boys are dreamy. LOL

Daniel and Sam, we need to talk. I'm loving the BCS reactions but, I'm cheating on you. Yes...I started watching Reacher season 3 without you. I much prefer your BCS videos and will re-watch Reacher along with you when the time comes. Please forgive me

So the previous recap you (sam) asked "... will this light a fire in chuck?" .. well xD

There is no doubt in my mind that Chuck knocked off the lantern on purpose. His entire life was the law and he was the best of the best. Now he's booted from HHM and probably can't get insurance as a solo practice because there is no one to supervise him and even if he could no one will hire him after the debacle at the hearing. He has severed relations with Jimmy and Howard, the only people who care about him (I guess except for Rebecca) and his condition is worse than ever. So he just ended it.
And just FYI, old landlines that plug into the wall like that don't get power from the house current. It comes directly from the phone company so who knows where that electricity was coming from.

Early in the reaction, TBR saids something like "Jimmy really needs Kim to bring him back from darkness". I think it would be more accurate to say "Jimmy really needs Kim to bring him back from Saul-ness"
Everyone seems to forget how Saul was in Breaking Bad. Yeah, he was funny and fun to watch, but let's remember the number of times he told Walt the solution to his problem was murder. He wanted to kill Badger in jail when he got caught. He wanted to have Walt kill Jesse. "Send him to Belize". He suggested Hank should be killed at one point. And that's just the murder. The pushing Walt to cook meth, sending men to force Beneke to write the irs a check. The number of bad things Saul did in BB was innumerable. Saul was not a good person and Jimmy is becoming him.

Ok so you brought up not seeing Kim in Breaking Bad and given the heaviness of these two episodes I thought I'd offer some levity for you two to discuss. There was a fan theory online back then. Maybe Kim is in Breaking Bad. The answer is always the good stuff she said. What if Kim got hooked on the pain killers went down bad choice road and ended up with the street name Wendy in Breaking Bad. You might think that is a stretch but if any writers could make that story line work it's the ones in this show.

Thatβs such a great point. Whatever character defects they have, they are brilliant lawyers. They would have been brutal adversaries in court.

So many thoughts about the series even after seeing it 3 times now. There's always a lingering though if what could have been.
What could have been if Chuck took Jimmy under his wing and properly mentored him - if Jimmy would have had the patience to operate under a few constraints. Can you imagine what dealing with a two headed dragon like Chuck and Jimmy would be like as an opposing attorney?
