I don't know whether you spotted it, but David Strathairn (Whistler) was also Noah Vosen, the antagonist from Bourne Ultimatum 😁
Loved this movie ever since I saw it in the cinema, glad to see you react to it!

Nice reaction as always. Probably good relief from Trainspotting (unless you watched this first!) Some recommendations:
For River Phoenix, Running on Empty (1988) (Tragic but good movie with lots of good acting) and I Love You To Death (1990) (Nice dark comedy with Kevin Kline and others) . Phoenix was definitely taken from us far too soon .
For Redford, as others have mentioned - Three Days of The Condor (1975) - Ties nicely into Sneakers; and The Natural (Hey! Baseball season is coming up!)
For David Strathairn (who played Whistler), he's done a lot of good work with Director John Sayles including Eight Men Out (1988) (More baseball!) and Limbo (1999).
For Ben Kingsley of course there is Gandhi (1982), but also Sexy Beast (2000), The House of Sand and Fog (2003) (Very sad movie), and Death and The Maiden (1994). Very versatile and diverse actor.

This movie has one of my favorite movie quotes, whenever someone asks what I want, I automatically respond "Peace on earth, goodwill towards men"

I grew up watching this movie and I always love seeing new people discover it. It’s so great and the casting is fantastic, especially Robert Redford. Something I just realized during this rewatch is that Robert Redford was in The Sting with James Earl Jones’ father. I think I only made that connection because I recently watched y’all’s reaction to that movie, which is also fantastic.

Robert Redford does a lot of double takes in this movie. He is a master at the double take. :D

Also, I am pretty sure I also mentioned this on the post for The Sting, but if you want another jaunty group heisty deal like this with Redford in it, check out The Hot Rock (1972). Afghanistan banana stand...

Saw this in the theater and fell in love with it right away. It reunites Robert Redford and Sydney Pollack who collaborated together on Three Days of theCondor. A nice tight little suspense flick

After Butch, Sting and All the Presidents Men is this the next Redford Classic !!! Think i watch it every Year !!! Love this Film !!! The "Give him Head" Line always makes Me laugh all the Time :) Next Redford should be "The Natural" from 1984 or "Three Days of the Condor" from 1975 ... Also check Out more from Sidney Poitier (First Black Oscar Winner) like "In The Heat of the Night" from 1967 or "The Defiant Ones" from 1958

Saw this movie in the theater, because the cast was so big. I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. I have seen it so many times since, and I never get tired of it. Such a great movie, phenomenal cast, and fun ride. Unfortunately, River Phoenix passed away shortly after this movie. :( He was such a great actor. Joaquin is a great actor as well, but there was just something about River that seemed so special. RIP

Back when you watched The Sting I suggested you could see both Redford and Newman in the '90s (albeit separately) by watching this and the Coens' Hudsucker Proxy. I know this was the spin winner, so it had help, but fingers crossed my wish comes true anyway!
