F/VoH Ch 79: The Stares Pierced

The stares pierced through, some filled with a strong curiosity, while others contained veiled anxiety. However, Ryan showed no sign of concern.

Ryan simply walked straight ahead with a calm expression, his mind completely focused on one thing: returning to the inn, sleeping peacefully, and waking up the next morning. For Ryan, the gazes of the homeless were just part of the background of a world that did not affect his main goal.

Charlotte, walking beside Ryan, responded similarly. Although Charlotte could sense the tension and curiosity emanating from the inhabitants of the slums, she remained calm.

Like Ryan, Charlotte did not care. If Ryan was unaffected, then Charlotte would not be affected either. They both seemed to walk in a bubble that isolated them from the harsh reality around them.

Their journey was quiet, accompanied only by the sound of footsteps on the dusty ground. The night air began to feel cold, a gentle breeze blowing in with the distinct smell of the slums. After a while, they finally arrived at the inn.

As soon as they arrived, Ryan immediately jumped toward the window, followed by Charlotte. Ryan pushed the window open with a relaxed motion. They walked through the empty hallway, their steps nearly silent on the old, creaking wooden floor. Upon reaching the door to their room, Ryan opened it calmly and stepped inside.

Inside the room, Ellina and Rosseline were already waiting. Their faces showed signs of fatigue, but also tranquility, as if they had been waiting for Ryan for a long time.

Their eyes immediately focused on Ryan as he entered, but no words were spoken. There was only a comfortable silence, as if they all knew what had happened without needing further explanation.

Charlotte then slowly closed the door, while Ryan's gaze shifted from one to the other, yet his expression remained flat as usual.

Ryan then walked to his bed, removed his black cloak, and sat on the edge of the bed. "Have you been waiting long?" Ryan asked in a flat yet familiar tone, as if the time they had spent without him was not a big deal.

Ellina smiled faintly, "Not too long," she replied softly.

Rosseline merely nodded slightly, but from Rosseline's eyes, it was clear that she felt relieved that Ryan had returned safely.

That night, the atmosphere in the room became calm again. Ryan felt drowsiness begin to creep in, and he knew that tomorrow morning would mark the start of the next task, which might be even heavier. But for now, a peaceful sleep was the only thing on Ryan's mind.

...

...

...

The next morning, Ryan woke up with a strange feeling that immediately overwhelmed his thoughts. Ryan's face furrowed, a look of confusion clearly reflected in his eyes that had just opened. Ryan quickly realized something unusual.

Glancing to the right, Ryan saw Charlotte holding him tightly, as if she did not want to let go. Charlotte's soft chest pressed directly against Ryan's right arm, creating a somewhat confusing sensation.

However, that was not the strangest part. On his left, right next to Ryan, Ellina, with unmatched softness, had allowed Ryan's head to rest on her soft and ample chest.

Suddenly, Ryan could feel the blend of earthly softness on both sides of his body—something he had never imagined would happen on this cold morning.

Both women, although known as trained and deadly assassins, possessed an alluring charm and undeniable beauty.
