This is such an amazing show. Carmela is standing in Roman ruins in Paris. Tony is always talking about Rome with pride. She had wanted to build and accomplish things recently, although it wasn't working out. But she looks at those ruins and along with what Tony had murmured in his coma, she considers that everything is going to go away. Everything they've built, everything they've been through, everything they love. It's poignant for the show drawing to an end, but also for how fleeting everything is that they've given so much for. I don't think Tony has any thoughts quite like this.

2023-06-13 00:28:17 +0000 UTCI always saw it as intentional and symbolic on Phil's part, since mob hits often have some kind of symbol involved. The classic canary or rat stuffed into the mouth of someone who talked to the cops, for example. Phil steps out dramatically to show Vito exactly why it's going down. That and the pool cue make it clear. His mind was also made up to take action after talking to his wife about it, which is what I found the most interesting. It's almost like she's his unintentional consigliere, not that I think she actually knows anything about his mob business.

Some observations: Tony is obviously angry that Phil killed one of his capos without permission, but I think it's fair to say he's also upset at how Vito was killed. I'm sure if Tony had his way he would have at least made it quick. When Daniel said "road dome" I about choked on my drink 🤣 Love Ro being a cougar on the prowl in Paris. How she puts up with Carmella is sometimes beyond my understanding.
