Oh here’s a little bit of trivia for some of you. The guy who plays Uncle Junior’s lawyer in this episode, the man who drops him off at the psych ward, he’s the voice of Raphael in the 1990 Teenage Mutant ninja turtles movie. He also has a cameo in that movie as some passenger in a cab.

2023-05-17 06:39:28 +0000 UTCDon't misunderstand me, Stan, I believe Sil is loyal to TONY, I'm just unsure as to how far and for how long that loyalty would have extended to Carm, if Tony hadn't pulled through. Maybe I'm more cynical than you, but I just don't think you'll never go broke betting on almost all of the characters on this show to, ultimately, do the selfish thing.

2023-05-15 05:44:53 +0000 UTCYes you are correct Vito did bring up the kick to Carmela but I think that was more of a “Sil’s taking a shit & trying to hide from the guys because he’s not fit to be leader” kind of thing. I don’t think he was purposefully or intentionally not thinking about giving her a cut since at the funeral for Eugene the previous episode Sil talks about taking care of Carmela and bringing Tony’s cut to him so he can give it to Carm & “run the house & that shit there”. He also stays on top of Paulie for give Carm the $ “I think I know who I’m dealing with” he says, which is a big thing for him to say. Keep in mind at this point they weren’t sure if Tony was going to make it and Sil is still being loyal to Tony to the point of antagonizing a captain whose support he might need to retain the #1 position. Plus like I said there’s stuff that happens later that reenforces Sil’s loyalty. I won’t spoil it but I’ll quote the scene to give you an idea of what I’m referring to. “Measures were taken”.

Sil is cunning, which makes him a good consiglieri, but it's Vito who brings up kicking up to Carm in the hospital bathroom, and Sil has to think about if for a second and then agrees that it's the right thing. I think Sil knows as long as Tony's still alive he should keep things as is, but the moment that isn't the case, I wonder if he doesn't reevaluate matters. As I said, you could very well be right, but that seems like giving him a benefit of the doubt none of these guys (except Bobby) has particularly earned.

2023-05-14 18:17:44 +0000 UTCNo I don’t think so. He’s shown to be very loyal to Tony. He made sure Carm got her cut of the heist money, he took care of Tony’s cut while he was in the coma, and there are some things coming later on.

2023-05-14 10:36:11 +0000 UTCI love that if Daniel misses a joke Sam’s right there to catch it. The “toxins” bit is something a lot of people seem to miss so it was good to see you catch it. Also, Daniel was spot on with how “weakness” is perceived by these guys. If we remember allll the way back to season 1 the big war between Junior & Tony was started by Tony joking about Junior giving oral sex. So crying is something definitely going to be seen as weakness. That’s sort of the theme of that episode. Tony establishing his dominance, sizing up every guy in the room. That’s an important moment that comes into play late on. And Yeah Bobby is like the one decent person in this group. He’s the only one I could say is redeemable in any way(except for marrying Janice?!?)If anything ever happened to Tony, pretty much the only guys Tony can count on for taking care of Carmela after he’s gone is Bobby or Sil. All the other guys have shown to be jackals & I’d say are totally untrustworthy.
