Lotta great WWI films that need to be watched. Like I loved 1917 but there are some gems getting overlooked. And I hate so many people are reacting to the recent All Quiet on the Western Front, since it didn't bear that much resemblance to the novel, which is top tier. 1930 version or go home. Even the 79 TV movie held closer to the novel.

I always read the apartment scene when the other 3 come in hot as them feeling an element of jealousy or betrayal from Pitts character. That they go right into talking about one of the worst experiences they had together as a tank crew. Here's Pitts character, up in this apartment, all clean and having food cooked for him, along with the new guy. I can't remember who said it, but someone made a comment about why weren't they invited.

Just on the ending, when the young german soldier ignores Norman. It's Norman at the start of the his journey, a reflection of what Norman was like. Clearly a new recruit into the German army, who didn't want to be there.

Same feeling I had about it the first time I watched it. Have no interest in seeing it again.

A Very Long Engagement, Testament of Youth and The Thin Red Line are the war films I would recommend

Well, the combat scenes were cool and well done. Besides that, I can't really say I cared for the film. I hated every character in this movie.

bro, during WW2 the Germans built 1,350 Tiger tanks, the USA built 49,000 Shermans--they never had a friggin chance!!!

This a brutal but very realistic film. I was at the tank museum in Bovington England--the home of the only running Tiger tank on earth. (they used it for the filming) this was not CGI, --that sucker weighs 54 tons and on average it took 5 Shermans to take one out. Yes, the Germans actually had better tanks than we did in WW2...

I can't find the specific quote but I remember hearing a German officer saying that one of their greatest allies in the war was the US Army's personnel system. They would do things like take a soldier trained as a typist and throw him into a tank, and call it "On-the-Job Training" I guess.
The German Tiger and Panther tanks were definitely superior to the Sherman in both armor and firepower, and their crews were very experienced, especially at that point of the war; but the Allies had one major advantage, the US factories could produce Shermans much faster than the Germans, and Allied tankers learned to use their numbers to outmaneuver the Germans, a lot like you see in this movie.
I'm not sure if he was in 2nd Armor, I think so, but my dad's uncle was a tanker in WW2, I'm named after him actually, his name was Jose but everybody called him Joe. And my dad was in 2nd Armor during Vietnam but he ended up staying in the US, my uncle Roberto did get sent to Vietnam, 1st Infantry Division, 4th Cavalry, and his job was to retrieve disabled tanks and tank crews from combat zones with a wrecker, basically a big tow truck of a tank, survived with two bronze stars and two purple hearts.
Funny thing is I didn't know any of that when I enlisted as a tanker, just a coincidence I guess. I ended up not going because I had to get surgery for something, I enlisted later but as a radio operator because everyone kept asking me, "Why be a tanker, what are you gonna do after the Army, drive tanks?" So I went in as a radio guy instead, still kind of regret not being a tanker, the M1 Abrams is a bad MF as far as tanks go.
Also, I recommend End of Watch, it's also pretty dark but realistic from what I've heard some veteran cops say.

I reccomended this a while ago , but another great war movie is the lost battalion ( 2001) its an incredible true story about world war 1 nobody else has reacted to it yet and I've been trying to get this movie into the YouTube reaction community for a while . I even have been asking other YouTube channels alongside your channel because I feel that this story is known but not as well as it should be. I know that you guys would love the movie , it is amazing and captivating
