The Sopranos Season 5 Episode 3 'Where's Johnny?' Full TV Reaction!!

Comments

Sam is right. That is one of the biggest problems I have with the show. No mention of the other 4 families in NY.

Ghost Crusaders

Dunno if anyone told you guys but Feech is Frank...Michelle Ppfier's original boyfriend in Scarface...Tony's boss before...ya know.

Ghost Crusaders

Whenever I see a Sopranos clip or even a clip from any other of Gandolfini's roles on youtube, someone always sneaks in a "He never had the makings of a varsity athlete" comment, I laugh out loud every time!

Bobby: Rhoadies?!?!?!?!?!

What's this, the fucking UN?????

Paulie rolling the lawnmower to his trunk had me rollin

Mr. Chumpus

"What am I asking you for, you probably showed her how" Best line of the series.

David Murray

Stop it, Marcus, you're giving me PTSD! It got really weird when my cousin Albert married my "Aunt" Marie who was also Albert's father's goddaughter, but who I've been assured was not actually blood related to any of us, even though we all go back to the same town (Palmi) in Calabria. I thought best to stop asking questions after that. And they wonder why every Italian guy in Philly marries an Irish girl--we're just too confused to take the chance of inbreeding.

VivendoBem

Yes, Paulie’s a weasel, but God was he funny here through the whole landscaping plot. In an earlier episode, he’d mentioned that he’s been reading Sun Tzu’ s The Art of War after Tony turned him onto it and then they call that back here to show that of course he isn’t reading it, he’s listening to the audiobook in his car when he spots Feech’s nephew’s truck. And (um, indirectly) yanking Gary Lamanna out of the tree and then taking one of his mowers and sticking it in the trunk of his Caddy always has me in tears laughing. Oh, and junior saying Tony’s always been a “hot house flower” just means he thinks his nephew is being fragile and over sensitive. I was gonna define “half and half”, but thought better of it.

Robert Livingood

"So keep your ears open and your mouth shut!">> Cuts to Adriana snitching again, absolutely genius cut. Paulie listening to Sun Tzu (Tony put him on to it, heh heh) right before taking out the gardeners is the funniest shit ever. That and the visual of him taking the lawnmower has me howling every time. He's got a right to defend himself though. Dominic Chianese might have had the toughest acting job in the series. He goes from formidable mob boss to confused, vulnerable old man so convincingly. During the meeting with Lorraine and Angelo he's out of focus unless he speaking and he's so difficult to read. He's just there physically but mentally absent. Junior's varsity line hurts so much because Tony is so obsessed with his self-image to the point that it blinds him to his uncle's condition. The last scene is heartbreaking because it's two men who are too proud to break the facade they try so desperately to maintain- Junior refuses to break his gangster persona and admit his love for his nephew and Tony tries his best to not let his guard down and have a heart to heart with his uncle. Your reactions to AJ this episode were priceless. You just know he's going to give Bobby Jr. a lot of shit for the bed wetting. It's also funny that Janice has to read a book to figure out what's wrong when it's just too much Snapple drinking near bedtime.

That last scene was pretty sad. Junior loses his mental faculties after trying to pretend like he did to get out of the trial. When Daniel said, "What's a half and half?" I about died 😂

Jeffrey Miller

That line always floors me. What a visual.

James Boyd

Paulie: "He jumped out the tree and came after me a chainsaw. I got a right to defend myself, Ton!" I don't what funnier, his excuse or thinking Tony would actually believe that to be true...😂😂😂

JG

"Damn, you can't have old people watch old people"😆😆.. my friend, you ain't kidd'n..😆😆

PastaDon

That last scene with Tony and Junior might be one of the saddest in the whole show. It really hits hard. Apparently Gandolfini and Dominic Chianese were intensely drained by it. On a lighter note, the convo with Adriana and Sanseverino about how Tony and Christopher are related might be the most east coast Italian thing ever. I remember dozens of conversations like this in my own family. "How is Uncle Mickey related to us again?" "He came over from Abruzzo around the same time as Uncle Carlo." "But how were they related?" "Well, he lived in the same house in the old neighborhood for years, with your Uncle Angelo and Aunt Angelina." "So Uncle Mickey may not be any more related to us than any other Italian-American from Philly or Jersey?" "Maybe. I don't know. But he married your Grandpa Paul's cousin Catherine, so he's family that way too." "You mean Aunt Catherine that was at the anniversary party?" "No, your other Aunt Catherine. They moved back to Italy before you were born." I just gave up after awhile. 😂

Marcus Cato

i always tear up in that last scene.

Michael Kang-Beats

As Tony might say: "Aw, sonofabi-!" 😂

Marcus Cato

in b4 everyone posts the 'varsity athlete' line

Shaun Eberle

to me this is the most underrated sopranos episode. this is pure, classic sopranos with so many great lines.

Andrew

Yay! Can't wait to get home and watch later!
