Best Anime of Winter 2026 - Ones To Watch (Uncensored)

I just came home from watching Scarlet. God, that's so amazing! I was crying tears of joy at the end. No spoilers: just watch it!

I'm very late to this video (doing a big ol' catch-up) but I just wanted to say: I really appreciate you listing the various titles and where to watch them towards the end. Thank you Geoff, and enjoy your vacation (or I hope you enjoyed it. I am, once again, very late to this video!)

I've literally watched every SAW film and *none* of them shook me nearly as hard as Shiboyugi did. I made it like halfway and had to stop. I can still see and more importantly *hear* it. I mean, credit to the voice actresses and all, but clearly the show is not for the faint of heart, mind, or stomach. Hope you fared better than me after you stopped.

I was..... NOT ready for Shiboyugi. That show left me literally shaking in ways even the goriest horror couldn't. (Spoilers below) ...poor Aoi..... I can *still* hear her...

So far I have enjoyed everything that was recommended in this video... But Jujukai is somehow blowing everything out of the water with episode 51 being possibly the best episode of anime I can remember right now... Holy fucking shit. I know this isn't the place for it but... FUCK Also, Journal with Witch is straight up unbelievable so far. Thanks so much for the thoughtful recs every season, Geoff; You fucking rule!

So, I tried watching shiboyugi, and it's not the kind of horror I can deal with. More of a SAW vibe, where the girls have to contemplate doing horrible things to themselves to live, and that is not fun for me. The directing is indeed inspired, and it's clear there will be more than just this death game within this season. There seems to be a little of a squid game vibe as well, depending on whether the MC is being good or evil, but I'm not willing to even finish the 1st episode to find out anymore.

I would really enjoy and appreciate a video from you talking about the best way to experience various anime, the anime or the manga. It's something you comment on sometimes, but it's otherwise hard to know which Manga should be prioritized for the best experience, e.g. Chainsaw Man or (in my opinion) Dragon Ball.

I have to say, the premise of Roll Over and Die was so interesting (and the animation quality so… powerpointy) that it compelled me to read the manga, which in turn compelled me to read the Light Novels. I'd say the story overall is pretty good, it has some very disturbing body horror though. The yuri takes its time to develop both the characters individually and their relationship, which is very satisfying too. I'd watch the anime only to support the series, tbh

Journal with Witch mentioned :)

Geoff there's no excuse for dedicating the time to watch that shitty seasonal isekai in a season this stacked, and I can say that for sure because I watched it immediately

Felix

I appreciated Daily Grind at 29 for revealing it's true nature at the end of episode 1 instead of further on. I'm still going to watch it, just as trash instead of dadslop.

Nice, enjoy your vacation, well deserved!
