December progress update

Hey. Hi. Howdy.

So, let's take stock of the last month or so. Wheeeew. Kinda wild. Firstly, on behalf of South Africa, I'm sorry about Elon. We messed up there. You have our permission to deport him.

Secondly, still dealing with my family situation. It's tough adapting to an amputation at any age, let alone when you're over ninety. But we've figuring it out. Hopefully next year there will be more people able to assist and I can stop being the main guy there, because I'll have bigger things to deal with, which leads us to...

Thirdly: new job. I've been stuck in a job I dislike for three years, ever since right before Covid, and I finally found a new one I'm actually going to enjoy. Which is super fortunate and exciting, albeit terrifying as it's my first new job in twelve years. Anyway, I'll be putting in notice in January and starting that in February, and I expect Feb/March to be a writeoff from a hobby perspective while I get to grips with everything. So with that in mind, I have serious motivation to get build 0.5 out before then - by the start of Jan, in fact, since Jan will likely be filled with emergency training for the poor fucks I'm leaving behind, and I'd prefer not to be wrapping up a build at the same time. So my goal for these holidays is simple: lots of writing.

I've made a bit more progress since the last update, but not much really. Having to do interviews and tech tests and things left me anxious most nights and nowhere in the right mood to create. However, I'm wrangling that all back at last and starting to output again, so I'm hoping to get back to my old productivity within a week or so. I've tweaked my initial ideas for how you spend time with the characters who are available then to make it more diverse and interesting, and I'm enjoying exploring them more in these settings, and I think you will, too.

On the art side, Coachmen and up have seen the previews of the new character art on Discord, and it's terrific. Really helps me get inspired to write the relevant characters. Once enough have accumulated, I'll do a series of polls here to let you vote on which variants you want to be canonical :)
