He said that he and Trey Miguel went into their BTI match looking to prove that they were a feud that the office should pursue down the road. He's been very happy with the confidence IMPACT has shown in him and he's enjoying his time there. He was excited to do work in the X-Division and show a different edge to it, and himself.
Maclin says that the creative process is much more relaxed in IMPACT than WWE, and there's a lot more input available from talent. He pointed to Tommy Dreamer and D-Lo Brown as a couple of producers that help put things together and make more sense.
Maclin knew that he and Wesley (now Westin) Blake would eventually team again. He says they stay in contact daily, and Sami Callihan called them up and offered them a spot working against the American Wolves, which reunited the team. He's not opposed to doing things on screen with his fiancee Deonna Purrazzo as long as everything makes sense.

I’ve been really impressed with Maclin. I didn’t see much of his work in WWE, but he has definitely made the most of his opportunity in Impact. He could be a future world champion for them if he stays on this path.
