Fightful spoke to Shelton Benjamin for an interview, and got some details on his career.

He told us that once he came to OVW, that was actually when he realized he was physically capable of things that others weren't. He said that he would pick some things up that other people with athletic backgrounds weren't able to. He took the 450 out of his arsenal because he injured his elbow on it and required surgery. Brock Lesnar of all people said that he should stop using it unless he can hit the move ten out of ten times. He says there's still a lot of things he can do that he doesn't because of the margin of error.

In regards to his famous Raw match with Shawn Michaels, he said he wasn't nervous, he was confident and excited. Shawn Michaels led the match, and Shelton mentioned specifically working with Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero in the past prepared him to work with Shawn. Michael Hayes pitched the springboard into the superkick. Shelton didn't realize how incredible it would look, and said it wasn't even that big of an ask of him because he was sure he could do it if Shawn could get his foot up that high. Backstage, they got a standing ovation and Michaels told him they did something special.
