WWE hasn't offered Adam Cole long-term extension yet
Added 2021-08-03 19:24:16 +0000 UTCMuch has been made of Adam Cole's contract situation with the company. Most, including Cole we're told, had hoped to keep the situation quiet and it seemed there was an understanding that it'd be kept close to the vest. Others, when finding out the situation, argued that the possible expiry of the deal should be publicized, considering the competitive nature of the wrestling world. By the end of July, word had spread that Adam Cole's new "agreement" was set to run through Summerslam. WWE sources confirmed that Cole has not formally been offered a full on, new contract by WWE as of yet, but were told "it's obviously planned" by a person of influence within WWE.
It should be reiterated that all indications are that Cole and the higher ups in NXT have great relationships.

it all comes down to money Cole knows his worth and clearly wwe now sees nxt as nothing but developmental and the pay structure no doubt reflects that and it seems more than likely they won't be able to come to terms just because of the 'salary cap' nxt might be under now that it's only seen as developmental. And given how everyone ages, not being willing to go to the main roster may see more of these situations where contracts negotiations go down to or past the wire

2021-08-05 10:00:08 +0000 UTCI'm a little confused. HHH was able to get samoa joe back, does he not have the pull to get Adams deal done? Assuming he wants to.

2021-08-03 23:05:39 +0000 UTCthe plot thickens. Read a report on WhatCulture earlier, citing another website that I don't follow, claiming Cole had turned down multiple contract offers. Of course we have to go with Fightful on this. Fascinating story whatever pans out. Personal opinion is I'd love to see him in AEW.

2021-08-03 19:54:27 +0000 UTCThey're gonna offer him 75,000$ and a run with any story of his choosing haha
2021-08-03 19:46:05 +0000 UTCI feel like there's had to have been casual talks about offers already, just nothing contracted out yet. They have to see what they have in him by now. If not, he'll be a game changer should his contract run out.

2021-08-03 19:46:01 +0000 UTCI’ll be in the minority and hope that he stays as long as he can be in NXT. While he hit his ceiling there he’s safer there than on Raw or Smackdown. Not everyone needs to go to AEW.

2021-08-03 19:45:59 +0000 UTCI think HHH and Shawn love Adam so much they are definitely pressuring Vince to get this deal done.

2021-08-03 19:45:23 +0000 UTCI think WWE is going to Daniel Bryan this situation and just let it run out. I feel like Vince sees nothing in him.

2021-08-03 19:40:21 +0000 UTCThey are playing nice. Why pressure the man? He will make his decision and from the sounds of it they mutually agreed to talk about it and assess it after this agreement. Sounds good from both sides.

2021-08-03 19:32:12 +0000 UTCA phrase I use about my company seems to apply to WWE: "We make dollars, we don't make sense"

2021-08-03 19:31:06 +0000 UTCWhy wouldn't they have offered him a long-term contract by now? Do they NOT want to know what he's going to do? I know I'm not backstage but jesus, this smacks of complete incompetence.

2021-08-03 19:29:09 +0000 UTCI never thought I would see WWE operate like Impact on one of their contracts.
