New Banner Art and Logo WIPs

Hey guys! While this month has been slower for us, you may have noticed we've been gradually updating the look of our project's Patreon home page. We will talk about that and more in a separate news post, but overall, the page should feel much cleaner and to the point now than it was a few months ago.

The banner art and our logo/profile picture in particular are assets that have been around for almost a year and a half now, even though they no longer represent the direction of the project.

The main theme of our game is identity as a concept. Nyrok, the player character, is in a constant struggle to unravel the mystery behind his loss of memory, but also left to pick up a life he is so unfamiliar with. We gave Rauch, our background and concept artist, a lot of options to choose from as a visual theme for our banner and other promotional art. Eventually, Rauch decided to settle on a more abstract theme:

The idea was to have some of the main characters in the game reflected through mirror shards. We did have a vision and reasoning for why we picked mirror shards; but even if you don't want to decipher possible meanings, you can see what the game is kind of about. We couldn't really fit everyone without making the banner art feel too crowded, so we chose those which we feel are more relevant to the main plot of the game instead.

As for the new logo art, these are some of the designs Rauch came up with:

The skulls might look different but they're supposed to be the same skull viewed from different angles. A reptilian skull, surrounded by native Duskin decorations, all enveloped in an eerie, primal light.

We will hopefully finish these art pieces soon. We're quite happy about them, they are much more representative of the game, while also enhancing the mystery of the story.
