Patreon Rewards, Finances and Future Update Schedules

Greetings everyone! As the spooky season is creeping in, we have to break some... "horrific" news to you: The rewrite will have to be delayed for another week or two, but rest assured that we are hard at work to finish it as soon as we can.

While we're busy reworking this project head to tail, we should take this time to talk about some important matters: Patreon itself.

We have already changed our outdated Patreon description to fit the current direction of the game. You might have noticed an inclusion of straight sex or non-scaly characters. Don't worry, none of the current characters will have their sex or species changed. If you picked up on the signals, we already have a female character who was very interested in you. There is quite a bit to talk about here; in the future, we will go into more detail about just what these changes in our description mean.

At a late stage in development, we might freeze releasing updates to the public. This does not mean we'll stop working, we rather want to burrow ourselves to finish a giant batch of content for the Steam release.

You may also start seeing irregular build release intervals. This is because the monthly schedule for content does limit the writers somewhat in what they can actually release. Within a month, the question becomes: Do we work on something more vast, but risk cliffhangers when it's time to release a build? Or do we make our content pushes shorter, so we can comfortably close out smaller batches of content in one release?

Monthly builds can work for content at the start or for free time events, however we feel that taking this approach for more intense segments would detract from the experience; we want to get somewhere with the story.

Now, the question becomes, do we stop releasing builds altogether but keep you updated with descriptive posts and sneak peaks, or do we release them in an unfinished state to you, our patrons?

Currently, we see two ways of going about it: Either moving access to releases up to the $10+ patrons or not doing it altogether. Of course, as a supporter you might want to see progress at all times. As mentioned, you would still get progress reports, sneak peaks and previews of both the writing and art regardless of what we choose.

To emphasize, we are not employing this change now, it's going to take a long while until we start seeing the finish line and we will notify you in advance when such a thing will happen.

If we want to hide progress until the Steam release, why show it to patrons at all? Given that you do receive the full game for free on release if you pledge $10 even just once, it seems only right to give you early access to dev snapshots as well.

The $10 and $20 tiers will otherwise remain unchanged, the only other tiers that will see change are the $50 and the $100 ones. Obviously, the $100 tier is already fully booked and we cannot afford to add more main characters – it would simply be too much.

We would actually like to ask you here for more ideas on the rewards of these tiers. What would you like to receive once you pledge this much money to us? Our ideas are:

The patrons who satisfied our conditions before these changes will still see their characters added in the ways we promised.

Let us know what you think about the mentioned options for changes and what you would like to receive for the highest tiers. We will be monitoring your feedback and work out the reward tiers hopefully soon enough.

Stay tuned!

Hey there, thank you so much for the support! As far as the final release goes, the primary goal we have set is to launch Identity on steam, but we are also looking into additional options, for instance selling the game through our own future website. It goes without saying though that buying the game through other means than through Steam will also get you a Steam key for the game so that you can use it to play the game through Steam as well.

It all seems fair enough, making a game takes time, re writing a game takes even longer when you have to start over. you guys do what needs to be done to get this game where you want it......now if you excuse me i have to go find money (hopefully) to support you guys. (one more thing, is the final release only going to be available on steam?)
