Anniversary
Added 2018-09-03 21:38:57 +0000 UTCGreetings, everyone! There are some things we need to talk about and also announce. So, grab your favourite drink, snack or pillow and listen to your favourite, relaxing piece of music. This will be the mother of long posts.
Last year, it was the 27th of August when suddenly our first WIP of the game got released where you got to sit down at the tree to relax and meet Garreth soon after. Those were the times, right? Back then, we even had sex in the actual game. So where are they, the sex scenes? Where is the content you signed up for? Why is it so slow to advance? What are these weird horror scenes and do they have a purpose? We'll get to the answers of these questions, but first we'll need to take you to a trip down memory lane.
Looking Back
What you probably don't know yet is the history of our team, how it all came together. Back then, even before August, Kasai Brightwater wanted to make a visual novel happen with the premise of it having lots of gay scalies and also horror. He started working on this idea with Ren'Py and eventually assembled a team of people who mostly didn't know each other. They were all people who got together for this one opportunity, to work on a game about scalies getting fucked while also getting fucked by some horrors in the more metaphorical sense.
Mind you, there wasn't a casting or anything back then; if you were interested in working with the game, you were on it. But we never took our time to sit down and plan everything nicely.
While Kasai was the project manager at first when all of this happened, that role eventually slipped over to Rriik along with PR and programming. He's an individual who was and still is very passionate to take this project to its finish line.
With time, came changes in the team makeup. People came and went. About half of the original team members are still with us, however. Recently, we got a new person on our crew, Lone_Wanderer.
He's been involved with the project outside of the team, contributing edits every once in a while. Now that he is officially involved with us, he has been busy to work through the story and rewrite it. To help him with this task, we have added another writer to our circles: Blue Bishop. He has been hand picked given his experience and also capabilities as a writer.
Now, let's get to the actual meat: Answering the questions at the start. We have heard your feedback that you would prefer your sex scenes to not come as out of the blue as it did at with update a.01.
Our plan here is tied to give you content satisfying on its own, leading up or intertwined with sex which leads us to the next question: So, where is it?
We can also answer the question of "What is up with these horror scenes?" at the same time. We have been in production hell because we didn't exactly have an internal plan of where to go with the story, given how hectic the startup of the project was. This is yet another thing we have been catching up on in these last months until now.
So, whatever content was delivered was basically contained in its own, which ultimately means that many of the horror scenes didn't have much purpose to begin with. They were distractions to stall until we came up with a real plan.
In a year so far, we haven't even managed to produce enough content to justify a prologue. Progress with writing has been very slow and also lacking for our standards. You guys might have been puzzled and criticized scenes such as the otherworldly shower scene.
Making a Difference
After much thinking, we decided that our original writer SiriusLeeLost will not be working with us anymore. Both of our writers had been very puzzled about the inconsistencies and also the lack of quality in both the writing and actual content after an entire year. We didn't foresee any change happening unless we got a shift in our staffing.
Now, what does this mean? The entire game from now on will be somewhat different, granted that the views and interpretations of one writer's' work isn't the same as another. We also think that whatever ideas he's had are probably best to leave with him, which is why the direction we will be taking with the game will be different.
The premise of Identity will be the same, and the characters we've introduced so far will still be similar to what you would expect them to be.
To respect your wishes and expectations for the story and game but also to catch up with the rewrites, we will be freezing our Patreon for at least a month. We will update you for how long this freeze will last, but we are optimistic about this being short given our current pace. Of course, words themselves don't mean much and we intend to make good on our due promises.
As a humble sign of wanting to uphold to your expectations, the rewrite will also come free for everybody to access at the same time. After we finish our rewrite we will follow our old one-month-delay-period once again.
Closing Words
Like we mentioned before, both of our new writers are very busy to plan out and rewrite the entire game to deliver you the best content they can, so you can finally play around more with your juicy drakes. As it stands now, we might be able to finish our rewrite by the end of this month, so we can pick up on adding new content once more.
Our patrons got to see the quality of writing you can expect from this rewrite in our last content update already, so hopefully you'll enjoy whatever we have in store for you.
Comments
Yeah one year has past and there's lots of progresses you've made. Whatever you do is all for the game, so I believe you and will keep supporting.

2018-09-10 15:51:58 +0000 UTCHello and thank you for your feedback! We wanted to address more of what will change with the rewrite, but it would have made our post seem even more intimidating than it already does. We have received quite a bit of criticism on the start of the game, but this wasn't the only arcane and obscure choice: For example, you could see some otherworldly spooks in the corridor only if you teased Brym beforehand. From now on, the entire game will be more straight forward with its choices and you will also be able to see payouts more directly, so you won't have to wait for a while to realize that you didn't want to go with whatever thing just happened. Of course some choices will still influence actions at a later time, but these will be more about influencing the relationship with a character. Unfortunately, it will take us a bit more time to get more custom-made music and SFX into the game, so it probably won't be part of the initial rewrite. But we are planning things out on that front as well. Thank you again for your kind and honest words, we hope that we'll be able to deliver the game that you're looking forward to.

2018-09-06 20:57:15 +0000 UTCAlright! This is actually really good news. I tried to play this game before but I got really discouraged by the ambiguity of the sort of prologue. Like.. You go to a tree you get one route and you go to a cave then something else happens? That really didn't play well with me, add the lack of music and I stopped playing the game shortly after. I would like to give the game a second chance if it had clearer routes and some more polish, like music at least. I am happy that you guys actually care about then games quality, I am also curious of what will come out of this, and will try to pick this game up again :3

2018-09-06 20:07:59 +0000 UTCHey, yes it would be cool to have some sex, but the story is really fun and well-made, personnaly, I don't mind if there is no sex before a while :) What's up with these horror scenes ? Sure, I want to know what happened ! Will there find Foxtails ?Maybe they are all dead or gone... If they gave us the necklace, they wanted to protect us, so why do we have those visions ? So many questions, so less answers, my mind is running full steam... Funny to see how a visual novel like that could begin (I hope, if one day I finish mine, it will be a bit less hectic x) )
