Identity - Update a.07

Hey guys! 1st of the month is here, so it's time for Update a.07! This update brings alternative choices and butterfly effects to the gym scene and adds a few new backgrounds as well!

As you can see from the update art, we're also making real progress on Brym's design! Sketches are done for both his all-fours pose, as well as his bipedal hunched stance. We have FluffedWings to thank for making such awesome designs! :D

Another thing worth mentioning is that we began experimenting with sprite movement transitions! That is, moving sprites across the screen to emphasize the characters in focus. For now, we only implemented this feature on the story fragments brought by this update, but we'll definitely add this feature to all the previous scenes in the future!

Changelog

 - Added more story to the gym scene. To access it: choose to sleep under the oak tree in the beginning; show gratitude to Garreth; further on into the story, choose to go to the gym; then choose to calm Brymror down.
- Added a new background to the waterfall cave outside view (upon choosing to pop your head out through the waterfall in the beginning).
- Also added a new background depicting the hotel lobby hallway.
- Fixed some dialogue during the Kovle reception encounter regarding the MC noticing Kovle's name plaque and learning his name from it.
- Fixed a choice variable not being initialized properly (whether Cedrik is ignored or not during the gym encounter)
- Started experimenting with sprite movement transitions

Well, our idea was to integrate both anthros and ferals in our VN from the getgo, considering not many other VNs take this approach. And we made this choice from a number of perspectives, including lore-wise. The game universe is set in such a manner that it makes dragonoids be widespread in much of the same way humans are IRL. And with population, comes diversity. Dragons come in all sizes and shapes, including more feral and more anthro forms, both of whom being evolutionary plausible. Adaptation and cooperation between the diverse species is what led to the creation of a modern society. Emphasizing on adaptation, as you can see ferals are using (and benefit from) different means to achieve the same results as anthros. These being said, we understand that not everyone sees things the same way, which is why there will be equal romance opportunities for both ferals and anthros (or at least we will do our best to ensure an equilibrium is kept between these two sides of the coin.

So let me be clear, this is just my impression. I really think you need to ask feedback from other patreons to see if they feel the same way. Maybe even setup a post poll to get votes on it. You see I'm used to reading visual novels were a assortment of character shapes are used- muscular, thin, chubby, beefy, and regular. The thing with Kovle and Brymror... you seemed to have gone from humanoid to more non humanoid. It's interesting to see from a art standpoint. But as a visual novel, if these are supposed to be potential romances, I'd say its the wrong approach. I just can't even visualize them in a sexual sort of way. Once again though, strictly my opinion. I'd strong recommend you ask for feedback on it and see how people feel about a eastern dragon and a rock guy with stumpy little legs and distorted large arms.
