It might not be my favourite level in the game, and I remember constantly getting lost in it as a kid, but I absolutely love the music! ^^

Also your description reminds me of a similar experience I had with Sonic Heroes on Casino Park. I love the music in that level, but it would take me close to 15 minutes to finish it because I couldn't figure out where to go, so I hated it. The music was the only thing that kept me going.
