Standard Edition: Figure Drawing, Pt. 1
Added 2020-03-01 16:44:33 +0000 UTC
In this video I have taken all of the portions of the tutorial where I am only drawing, not talking, and sped them up 5500x. This means that the entire video is about 30 minutes rather than 3.5 hours. In this way I hope to make the information in these tutorials more accessible.
The drawing itself is not much past 12 inches top to bottom. The paper size follows as being a little bit more than that,

Hi Stephen. Could you please specify what paper size did you use for this drawing?

Hi Filipe, I would just recommend that focus a little bit less on value application and be a bit less thorough about your investigation of anatomy.

Hi Steph, how this method of anatomical analysis applies in live figure drawing, specifically in fast poses (2h)? I'm joining a local session, and we do poses of that length, how can I apply this method on an express condition like that?

Thank you so much ππ». Itβs so helpful. Can only imagine how much effort goes into doing these and the time spent in this level of production and video editing. Itβs sincerely appreciated by all Iβm sure.

Hi Kamlika, this drawing is made using a kind of comparative/constructive method. It is a synthesis of many of the applicable techniques I've picked up over the years.

Thank you so much for doing a figure. Did you use the sight sized method (from life) or comparative from a photographed ref. Itβs amazing. Thank you ππ»

Eric, I have this problem too. I have found, though, that if I try several browsers, I have the best chance of making it through the video with Safari. If you don't have a Mac you're out of luck but either way, you could try different browsers. I recognize that Youtube's videos had no trouble and Vimeo's do; it's probably a latency thing wherein Youtube has more servers all over the world than Vimeo so the Vimeo bytes literally have a longer physical distance to travel.

Hate to be a hassle, but would you consider hosting these videos on youtube rather than vimeo? Vimeo always lags terribly here in Oz. Your videos usually stop dead a few minutes in and that's all I'll get to see even if I play with the quality settings. No such issues with your Youtube posted videos. I don't know why, maybe it's Vimeo's servers or compression, but it's infuriating. No offence intended but I won't be subscribing anymore if you don't switch before April 1st because of this issue, as is it's just dead money because I don't get to watch your videos. Again sorry.
